Doc wants to change things up

So last blood test my T levels were above normal level. One thing I told her was I feel like I do better after my HCG injection. I was on 1ml of cypionate once a week and 500 iu of HCG per week. I am now going to cut my cypionate in half and double my HCG. What do you think it will do to my levels? Due to my pituitary problems I have always wondered if I am secondary or not. Thanks

1 ml is equal to 200 mg which is at the very top of the dosage range for TRT so it's no surprise your levels were above the reference range.

Moving to 100 mg is where most men start out with blood work in 6 weeks to see where serum level are at with adjustments from there.

With the reduction of course your Testosterone serum levels will drop but put you back into the normal healthy range.

Many men complain that they don't feel as well when their serum levels are above the reference range so you may actually feel better once you levels stabilize.

You would be better served injecting HCG with lower doses more frequently. For years I did 250 iu on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with great results...you may want to give that a try and see how you feel.

Thanks for that info. It is interesting you say I may feel better. My total T right now is almost 1200 now. Pretty high. I will be taking hcg twice a week now. I am curious to see what happens when my cypionate is lowered and my hcg is increased.

Neil, you will probably feel the same or better. Just make sure that you keep an eye on your hematocrit and donate blood when it gets close to 51-52. At 100 mg T once a week and 500 IU hcG twice a week most men do not have excess estradiol, but it is always good to check.

Last but not least, your testicles should tell you if that protocol is working. They usually start hanging lower and more full after 2-3 weeks. I have talked to guys that reported that it took them longer than that. I notice the difference within days. I also notice increased sensitivity in my penis, which I absolutely love.

It is too bad that we are years away for this type of protocol to be recognized by insurance and academia (guidelines groups). Not a single medical group has done a study proving all of the above claims. Dr Lipshultz did a study that proved improved fertility but he did not report on sex drive, testicular size and other quality of life measures. His group is trying to get back to the data to see if they can pull that info and present it.

One of the doctors in his group asked me: "Why do you think so strongly that we need to publish more data on HCG? We know it works!". I told him: "Because most men will not have access to it until that data is published from respected groups like yours. Your men have access but you forget that most men out there are having a lot of resistance from their doctors to prescribe hcG." He looked at me and I knew he "got it."

Thanks Nelson. I seem to be pretty lucky in the estradiol area so far. Seems to hang around the high side of normal. I suspect it will fall some more on my new protocol. This new endocrinologist seem to be trying really hard to get a good balance on my hormones. She takes care of my growth hormone and thyroid as well. So far I am impressed with her.

Her name is dr. Jennifer Bernard. I am going to be taking .5ml once a week and 500iu of hcg twice per week. Not taking zinc. my estradiol seems to stay in check.
