Coming up on 6 years and I'd give it a 0 to 1, but I now believe that my lack of success with TRT has been due to another underlying medical condition which I have not yet found a successful treatment for.
What protocol are you using if you don’t mind me asking?

HCT can level off. Mine actually got back to pre TRT levels at the end of year two.

That's exactly how long it took my HCT to level off, 2 years. I still wonder if I would have gotten my thyroid levels perfect, if I would have needed trt in the first place. That's why I can't rate by trt experience. I turn 64 this year and if God willing, I plan to retire at age 66. So I wonder when I retire will I try to get off of trt?

I felt pretty good on Nebido when I was 58, lost 35 lbs, a lot of energy and high libido, which I was on for about 4.5 years, but I have no idea what my estradiol, HCT, or really anything was. The only blood work I ran was PSA, Total and Free T, and lipid /glucose tests.

So I would say my experience was a 4, but this time around it might be different since I will have a different protocol and I am older.

Been on TRT for 11 months. 51 when T levels registered which were
Serum testosterone 11.9 nmol/L and FREE TESTOSTERONE 217.00 pmol/L [230.0 - 1000.0].
Prior to that I was always confused at why I couldn't put any muscle on or
strength improvements in the gym, in fact I was in decline. The penny
never dropped that I was low in the T department until I had an 'old man' set
of tests done for completely different reasons.

Although not fully dialled in with protocol etc yet looking back to 18 months ago
I did not realise how lack lustre I was - no 'get up n go', didn't want to socialise,
couldn't make decisions properly, no sex drive. The list goes on as in all others
cases here.

For me personally TRT has been a life changer. I do get ups and downs but the ups
far out-weigh the downs.

I'm not where I want to be yet - I'd like my libido back in full swing and I'd pay anything for that!
But the amount of research I've done on TRT and everyone else's issues it seems that it 'should' be
a case of fine tuning the protocol - protocol for 8 weeks, bloods and assess, adjust and repeat. There
aint a standard template that fits all.

In all I would dread having to quit TRT. Reflecting on what I was like prior to TRT compared to my
current status, even though not perfect 'yet', TRT for the rest of my life with a smile.

3 - good(hopefully one day fantastic)

Poor. My VA doctors just can't get it right. They insist on prescribing meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, mood control, psychotropic and sleep without knowing that virtually all of these conditions are caused by or exacerbated by my extremely low testosterone. Even did sleep study to try and prove I am constantly tired because of sleep apnea which can also be caused by low T as a result of excess abdominal fat and volume which restricts the free downward movement of the diaphragm during inhale. Beginning to believe there can't be more than 1 doctor in 1,000 who knows how to treat male hormone deficiencies. Good luck to you all. One more thing. Why do insurance companies so freely pay for female hormone therapy but not male hormone therapy?

I will have to update my post to 2.5+.

Most of the things I wrote above still hold true, however almost immediately after I wrote all of that I started feeling consistently better on my current protocol (about 8 weeks into my 4th protocol). Been feeling stable and solid for a week now which is a first on TRT for me. If this is what feeling dialed in is like, I could see bumping it up to a 3.

As of now I would give it a 4. I can’t say that for most of the last 8 years. I’ve had tremendous struggles on TRT and even feeling good for more than 2-3 days has been extremely evasive. Nearly three weeks ago I cut my dosage back to only 68mg once weekly. I’ve been on doses from 80-200mg weekly for several years and have tried splitting the dose, subQ, hcg, dhea, pregnenolone, progesterone, boron, nettle root and various other supplements to no avail. I’ve always had elevated shbg in the 60-70 range and as high as 77. This is the longest in years I have felt this good. For the first time in years I could care less what my labs are, but I’m assuming my total t is only 600-700ng. I will do labs in several weeks to see where I’m at, but for now I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve learned a valuable lesson regarding TRT, and that is you absolutely don’t need high levels to feel good and in my case, damn good!

I am with Defy Medical, & Dr. Justin Saya since January 2018.
About the time my natural test shut down, I did have a few doubts. But within about a week and a half everything improved.
Completely life changing for me!

4! Yes, it's not simple, but the benefits it delivers are numerous and amazing! It's just too bad we get used to and desensitize to the good stuff quickly :)
