Arimidex: E2 dropped from 45 pg/mL to 12 pg/mL in 7 weeks

My endo started me on .5 mg Arimidex twice a week. My numbers dropped from 45 pg/mL to 44 pg/mL. So then she upped it to .5 mg 4 times a week. In 7 weeks I dropped to 12 pg/mL. Nelson I know you are not a big fan but arimidex has really really helped me. One week before my last E2 blood panel I started getting cold. I am usually warmer than most people. Morning and nite wood were good. Of course she says everything is fine. Well I know better. So I stopped taking it for 4 days now. On day three no longer cold. On Sat I injected 50% more T to spike my E a little. I am sure it's going back up.

So now I need to decide when to start the Arimidex again and how much. What I am looking for is anyone with experience in taking Arimidex. If I dropped from 45 to 12 in seven weeks does that give you an idea where I should go with the dosage? Now I am going to throw in a little twist. Now I know this is a duh. On week 5 I started taking 500mg/day of calcium d-glucarate. Now I know there is very little proof that this affects E but I am wondering. I did stop taking it.

Unfortunately I have to wait til March for my next blood panel. So I am on my own to determine the best dose. I appreciate any assistance. Oh ya and Happy Holidays to Nelson, Gene and others who have been helping me through this. Thanks

Oh ya just for reference I take 60mg of Test Cyp twice a week and my Total T is at 765 NG/DL Ref. Range: 241-827

What estradiol test was used?

When you say you felt better on anastrozole, what does that mean ?

What is your TRT protocol and are you changing it?

It's not the sensitive. I'm at the mercy of my Endo. I've asked to get the sensitive and she says no. When I say feel better I mean it has greatly reduced my anxiety, panics and mood bombs. I haven't changed my protocol. Been doing 60mg of test for several months. So just the test cyp, anastrozole and supplements: (arginine, citruline, vitamin D, zinc, copper, magnesium and fish oil.
The 2 things I noticed with when my E dropped to low was the cold and not as much energy.

First and foremost your Doctor is an ass! Not providing you with the correct lab to evaluate E2 in men? What's wrong with her???

LabCorp even says on their lab printout that the "Ultra Sensitive" lab is to be used for men!!!

The standard default lab you used is designed for women NOT men. It overestimates values and I have see this first hand with my own eyes.

A value of 45 pg/ml even with the standard lab is not greatly elevated and it probably is higher on this lab than what your serum levels are really at. In other words, you may not need an AI at all.

Go get tested yourself if she won't order it; you can't determine AI dosages without proper and correct E2 labs.

Just to piggy back about the different tests I had them done 2 days apart and had a standard test @ 32 and a sensitive test @ 19...nearly two times the difference.
I was taking .25mg EOD and felt cold, joint aches, fatigued, I was sure my E2 was going to be lower than the tests showed. I did stop the AI and immediately improved, no achy shoulder most notably, but by day 9 with no AI, I was (am) an emotional mess. I need to take it but I'm searching for a spot where my E2 can rise but not to whatever level I feel like yesterday and today. Im going to go with .25mg twice a week 24hrs post injection and retest in 3-4 weeks.
Its my opinion that you're way over on Anastrozole and if you had a sensitive test that you'd be in the basement (<3).

I agree with you Gene. I may switch to a different doc. It's too bad they don't have at home kits to test yourself.

check out privatemdlabs, you can order (and pay for) your own tests. purchase and visit a collection site like Quest or Labcorp. That's what I'm doing when my "clinic" comes up short.
