Interested in Using HCG for Testicular Atrophy

Hello,

I've been on testosterone injections probably close to two years now. I'm on 200 mg/ml injection every ten days.

Overall, most things work better, but my testicals feel like spongy grapes. I saw a urologist (not for atrophy) and during his routine physical exam he made mention that they were high up. I think they float at times. I didn't ask, and he didn't offer any comment or solutions other than what he noticed.

My desire to have my original size and firmness back, I consider more psychological or aesthetics then medical. So I'm not sure if this is worth pursuing, and if HCG can help? I am on enough meds, I would prefer not going on another one. But I'd like to hear from anyone if it was worth it.

I see that there is an offer for free HCG. Wondering if I should try that or not? Is that enough to see if it does the trick?

BTW, I'm 57 5'11" 222-225. I work out 4-5 days a week.

Thanks,
Jack

I was in the Dr office today.............time for the ol colonoscopy, wow, been avoiding it but steppin up to the plate, or should I say bending over like a man < tryin to add some humor here >.

during the exam the dr commented that my testicles were soft, on the spongy side. I was shocked, I know they ascended, and I know that they are dropping ever so slightly since I started hcg 2 months ago. I have been on and off T cream/scrotum application, androgel/shoulder application for the last 3-4 years with not great follow up by Dr, and now T/IM wit a much better physician since 1/2014. Perhaps I have just gotten used to my guys getting softer and grown accustomed to the slow change. I had to really push my dr, for the hcg and he never had any findings of atrophy, but I knew it was happening.

The question is what should I expect about a change in possible firmness and recovery and am I giving too much credit to my dr that he has missed this ?

@Nelson.......my HCG comes from Empower...HCG (LYO) 11,000 iu........per instructions add 5.5 ml of bacteriostatic water, 25 ml 2x a week........I am not noticing any improvement in my boys and would general have a sense that going on 4 or 5 months of this therapy I might be experiencing something down there
When I mentioned this to my Dr, he was unresponsive.......do I take matters in hand and increase my dosage slightly to see if I respond differently?

You should notice a change by the second or third week. You may not be responsive to 500 IU twice per week. You may want to talk to your doctor about going to 500 IU three times per week or probably 750-1000 IU twice per week (along with TRT).

By the way, I notice that when I am on daily 5 mg Cialis my testicles feel even fuller. I want to speculate that it enhances the effect of HCG. Cialis' effect on blood flow and nitric oxide may enhance the fullness I get from HCG. This is just a personal observation. Has anyone else seen this?

Nelson - I too have noticed a fullness or heavy feel to my testicles, when I am doing daily Cialis and HCG. Interestingly I do HCG M-F and on weekends there is not the same full feeling.

IMO, any single dose of HCG over 350 iu is not a effective as lower doses more frequently.

The risk of receptor down regulation at higher doses always poses a challenge and don't forget; higher doses of HCG can and will increase intratesticular E2 that an AI is not good a controlling.

I have found that 125 iu each and every morning has had the best results for me and I believe it has enhanced my libido as well.

Just my $0.02.

Guys, I really appreciate your input........just got a call form the Dr office, where I asked about a change in protocol for HCG as per an earlier post where another Dr said I was not responding my my current regimen.
My primary say stop all HCG therapy, if it has not changed any or much testicular atrophy by now , it will not happen.

Ok, not the answer I was looking for. I think, I have experienced a positive impact from HCG, which srarted 7 mos after my latest round of HRT. I feel an increase in overall genital sensitivity and an improvement in ED issues, a cessation of testicular atrophy. Overall a physical, mental and sexual upswing, while not perfect, better than it/I was.

If I stop HCG, it is my understanding the atrophy will again start up. Im would like to continue the HCG, and understand that I may need to keep this Dr as my primary, but look elsewhere of a T Dr.

bruin - We need HCG when we are HPTA suppressed for more than just testicular health.

HCG as an LH analog acts as a neurohormone and on the peripheral parts of the brain.

We have LH receptors lining our blood vessels and they are there for a reason.

HCG also activates the P450 side chain cleavage as well which is responsible for converting cholesterol into Pregnenelone.

It's enhance libido and sense of well being and a host of other things.

You need HCG if you are HPTA suppressed IMO.

@Gene...........thanks for your reply............it supports my earlier statements about the overall picture other than testicular health........which is the tip of the iceberg.

I am going to continue my HCG treatment, while it may not turn back the clock on testicular development at least it may arrest further decline............Yes?

Yes, Dr. Crisler prescribes it for his men who are Primary as well. Many of his Primary guys tell him they have a better sense of well being and increased libido.

He, like I, also believe that there many LH receptors throughout our bodies and they are there for a reason.

You should hear him talk about the time he spent 30 minutes with a neuroendocrinologist...it's amazing what LH (HCG) does!
