Once restricted to the elite sporting arena, recent decades have seen AAS diffuse through bodybuilding to the gym culture and an increasingly image-conscious general population. Countries across the globe have identified the use of AAS, for musculature enhancement within their population. These findings will be discussed in the context of what this means for future research, policy development, and service provision for this population of drug users. The lecture will conclude with a brief overview of the Anabolic Steroids UK (ASUK).
