Stanozolol for Sexual Function?

I have post-finasteride sexual issues. I put them in 3 categories: 1. ED, 2. loss of libido, and 3. loss of sensitivity/increased refractory period/anorgasmia. The ED resolved on its own with time but the other 2 issues persisted. My doc suggested Stanozolol 2% Cream applied to the scrotum daily. Do y'all think that would help? Could anyone explain how it works?

Get your blood tested for lipids to establish a starting baseline...then, try what your doc is recommending and see how you do. Blood re-tested after 8 weeks or so to make sure you're still in a good range.

If the problem is a lack of DHT, then yes, that will indeed help. The scrotum skin is thin and has a high amount of 5AR receptors. Applying a DHT cream to that area will result in a significant elevation of DHT, which if all other factors are good, should give a libido bump. "All other factors" is the caveat. There are a lot of other possible reasons for your symptoms.

I don't know how long you were on Finasteride, or how long you have been off of it. It appears to have an effect on receptor sensitivity.

Moreover, not only the levels of neuroactive steroids but also the expression of their receptors, are altered by finasteride treatment in the brain areas considered. Indeed, an upregulation of AR in rat cerebral cortex occurred after the chronic treatment as well as at the withdrawal (Giatti et al., 2016). This is particularly interesting, because it indicates that the expression of this receptor is not only affected in the periphery, as observed in AGA patients (Di Loreto et al., 2014), but also in the nervous system. In addition, the expression levels of one GABA-A subunit, such as the beta 3, were also upregulated in the cerebellum after finasteride treatment (Giatti et al., 2016). At the withdrawal, an upregulation of the isoform alpha and a downregulation of the isoform beta of ER were reported in the cerebral cortex. In addition, the expression of alpha 4 and beta 3 subunits of GABA-A receptors was downregulated in the cerebral cortex (Giatti et al., 2016).

If the DHT cream does not result in improvement, there is a chance you may have some receptor sensitivity issues. It won't take long to know that, DHT applied to the scrotum works very quickly.

I tried the oral form of Finasteride about 20 years ago and quickly discarded it as the sexual side effects were intolerable. It took quite a while for things to return to normal and I was only taking it for less than a month.

Try this and report your results. There are other things you can also try if it doesnt work out for you.

Also, as mentioned above. It would be best to have your DHT levels tested to know where your baseline is. If your natural levels are not significantly decreased, it may indicate receptor insensitivity. Emphasis on the "may".

What have you tried? I'd recommend Dr. Rachel Rubin (although my TRT doc at Defy recommended Stanozolol). I'm still debating whether to try it but I'll let you know how it goes if I do. I'm also juggling wanting to have a baby. My wife wants to avoid IVF if possible so I'm in a pickle. Improving one issue could hurt the other.

Why would stanozolol decrease ur chances of getting ur wife pregnant?

I got my gf pregnant the first month we tried, and I was on test, deca and primo, along with a small dose of Oxandrolone sublingual preworkout 3x/ week. Was on 1000iu’s of HCG for 3 months prior to trying to get pregnant. I dropped that dose back down to 350iu’s/ week after we found out she was pregnant. She’s currently around 14 weeks pregnant.

For reference, she was married before, and it took literally 3 years for her to get pregnant with her ex husband. They tried every single month. He wasn’t on HRT or anything. Just smoked cigarettes and ate like crap and didn’t take care of himself. And here I am a health freak on high dose HRT, with multiple compounds, and we got pregnant first month trying. I obv can’t prove it, but imo one of the best things u can probably do for fertility is try to optimize ur overall health, on or off HRT. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I’m a health freak and am able to maintain such good fertility, despite concurrently being on high dose HRT atm, and on HRT in general for 10 years now

I also had a son almost 4 years ago while on HRT. Wasn’t even trying. Happened completely by accident. Wasn’t even on HCG at the time. I had stopped taking it about 2 months prior to conceiving my son

I guess I don't know for sure it will hurt me but I'm having a semen analysis this week. I know my 17-hydroxyprogesterone was low. That lab is highly correlated with intratesticular testosterone which I understand is an indicator of spermatogenesis. I just upped my hCG from 750IU 2x/week to 500IU every other day. I hope to add FSH soon.
