Hello Everyone,

Recently had my levels tested for the second time and was a bit alarmed of the current results. I'm worried because three months ago I came back at 436 and my doctor said I was in "range". I was confused by the range part but from what I've read it seems to be the way of them to politely say "you aren't low enough." Now three months later i'm below the "Low", my question is based on this what would be your recommendations? My first guess is to schedule an appointment with an endo, I was first tested by my GP and she sent me to a urologist *I complained of low sex drive/thought had ed problems*, and he sent me for my last test. I'm not schedule to see him for another month.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Excelmale. Yes, you are presenting numbers that demonstrate hypogonadism, but at your age it's most important to proceed under the care of a good doctor, a man/woman with experience in androgen therapy. What other tests were run? Estradiol/sensitive test, a full thyroid evaluation(TSH, t3, t4, rt3, antibodies), SHBG, DHT, psa, cbc - do you have those values? What other medications are you taking? Do you/have you used anabolic steroids or opiates?

The run-of-the-mill endocrinologist knows next to nothing about male hormone issues. The typical urologist knows a bit more, but many - probably most - of our members have had a terrible time finding a capable doctor. It is possible, however. We can help.

So, let us know the status of your other blood work. We're glad you joined and hope you find the discussion valuable.

My first question would be, why are your levels so low? My second question would be, how about a restart.

agree
1. get the proper blood work done
2. find a competent doctor (if he thinks injecting testosterone every two weeks is ok RUN!)
3. giving your age and LH results a clomid restart would be worth exploring IMHO
any prior AAS/pro-hormone/SARM use?

Last blood work I had was May 11th and as follows...
No SARMS/AAS/etc.
I'm in pretty good shape.
I've never been on any medications
Thanks for the responses so far

I forgot to note in my original post my Urologist had suggested HCG but wanted me to have more blood work to see.. Like above I have to wait until mid September to see him :(

discountlabs.com you can order your own tests up to you keep us updated
You should call and ask what his protocol would be for TRT or HCG post it here and will give you feedback

Based on the reference ranges you were given the wrong estradiol test. Your levels were measured with the standard, not the sensitive. The standard test over-estimates the level of estradiol in men; it's of no real value in working up your hormonal profile. Be sure the sensitive test, LC, MS/MS is ordered in the future.

I'm going to be making a list of things to ask him next time I see him.
Based on certain responses so far its very apparent I need a bunch of different levels checked.
I'll be sure to ask him about HCG / TRT, I know he was originally worried when I asked about
TRT because of my age and Im assuming his concern regarding me wanting to have kids in the future.
Not sure how true it is but he said insurance won't cover until I'm "under" normal which I just tested at.
I asked him about AndroGel but honestly reading about that it seems like a horrible option.

Androgel is a rational first choice for TRT. It certainly doesn't work for many men, it failed miserably when I started TRT and quickly moved to shots. That said, topicals, particularly compounded topicals, do a fine job for some guys.

I don't know what your financial situation is, but the honest truth is that many of the members here have to move to a self-pay model in order to obtain decent TRT care. You may not, but it is common.

According to my insurance and this is literally me just plugging AndroGel / Test into CVS the
prices come out to be VERY VERY affordable in my own opinion. Now whether or not this is true
or not I have no idea how truthful the "check cost/coverage" option is.

Your numbers appear to be very similar to mine and age is pretty close I am 29. My doctor wouldn't treat at the 400 levels, but was supportive of my starting with Defy Medical.

Definitely see about doing clomid for a couple months to see if that will work for you. It is affordable and with any luck only temporary to get your body producing what it should be.

Clomid did not work for me and I now have started testosterone injections and HCG, little bit more expensive.
