Five Month TRT Results: A Great Beginning

Just wanted to document a few results I have had from the first 5 months on TRT and from the help I received here on ExcelMale. (Thank you guys!)

I'm 62 and had complete ED no longer helped by cialis/viagra/levitra. I had hypertension and type 2 diabetes and all the symptoms of low T. For the past 25 or 30 years I worked out because I knew I should, but it was just drudgery and soreness. I was not making any gains and what muscle I once had was disappearing more and more every year. I was 15 or 20 pounds overweight despite constantly starving and struggling to keep from gaining weight. I was eating a supposedly-healthy vegetarian diet.

DIABETES: In the past year my HbA1C went down from 13.5 to 5.9. WOW! A year ago I was not on any meds but was not feeling well and did not know why. That's when a blood test showed HbA1C at 13.5. Soon I was on Metformin (2000 mg/day) and Glipizide (10mg / day). HbA1C came down to 10.5 but the long term prognosis wasn't good. After 7 months of that I went on the ketogenic diet. The HbA1C came down into the high 8's. I was still taking the same meds. Then I went on TRT and that brought my HbA1C down to 5.9 while also eliminating the need for Glipizide. I'm still taking 2000 mg of metformin per day. I also take 1000 mg of berberine per day (an herb that's said to have similar properties to metformin).

HYPERTENSION: I was on 2 different hypertension meds before going on TRT. Prior to going on those meds my blood pressure ran about 195/105. Even on both meds it was rather high (@ 165/100). Again, the long term prognosis wasn't good. Since TRT it runs about 145/85. Not ideal but much better! I'm now on one hypertension med instead of two yet my blood pressure is significantly reduced.

ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION: TRT alone didn't resolve the ED but I did start having a few nocturnal partial erections. Perhaps in time that function will be restored. After a recommendation by Nelson and others I tried trimix, which does the trick. That's powerful stuff! Nothing else was working for ED but the trimix certainly did. My wife is happy.

Libido has not been strong and I tried .25 mg cabergoline / week. Seems to help a bit with libido but not dramatically yet. Might try .25mg 2x/week and then watch prolactin and libido.

OTHER EFFECTS: Along with the medical changes noted above, my body has leaned out noticeably. I lost weight and am now making gains in the gym for the first time in 25 or 30 years. I see a big difference in the mirror. People notice. My wife notices. My skin tone has improved and some dry patches have cleared up. Joint pains and stiffness have disappeared. There's more of a spring in my step.

Things aren't perfect, but when I look back at this list I am amazed at the changes! I was in a rapid decline even though I had always lived an active and (I thought) healthy life. I was experiencing some of the complications of diabetes and hypertension and was headed toward a more serious decline. ED was complete and it was looking like sex was a thing of the past. Now I am feeling pretty good; becoming leaner and more muscular; having sex again; and my medical stats are much improved. I am more motivated and optimistic about my future than I have been in a long time!

    Current protocol:

    1 ml T Cyp 200 IM once/week
    250 units HCG SubQ E3.5D
    300 units ipamorelin SubQ 5X/Week
    Trimix (40/30/2) 6 or 8 units 2X or 3X / Week

    Metformin 2000mg/day
    Lisinopril 20 mg/day

Gene's N.O. Stack 2x/day (except for the cialis since I'm using trimix).
    Berberine: 1000 Mg/day

I was on 0.25 mg Anastrozole E3.5D at the beginning but it crashed my E2 and that led to a miserable 2 months. So I quit taking it. My doc still prescribes it but I just ignore the prescription. I'm firmly in Nelson's camp on that subject now.

Many thanks to the people here at ExcelMale who have shared their knowledge and their experience. I am still learning but TRT is changing my life.
