Coastwatcher you are a legend!

Yes I am willing to travel for any help out there

Yiu are too kind. I did hear from my good friend in London. To my surprise, there were no names that came to his mind when I asked about doctors in England or Scotland who dealt with post-finasteride syndrome. There are physicians he knows in Ireland and France, and I know one in Belgium. I will respond to you as soon as I have all the contacts. All names in one post.

The names of the following doctors were sent to me through the efforts of a good friend currently working in the health care field in the UK, in London. Obviously, I can't attest to the knowledge/skill any of these doctors have in treating those dealing with post-finasteride syndrome issues. I did spot-check some of the names, randomly, via Google, and those that I ran were referenced in relation to pfs patients.

Dirk Michielsen, MD

Francois Haab

Hi @johndoesmith

thanks for your feedback....

T was 15 now 17
E was 46 now 52

Im currently on Testogel 50 a day so I should push my endo to increase this dose?

Is it possible some men just naturally have low e or is this an obvious sign and reason behind while I feel so awful?

Thanks

The whole point of TRT is to increase your levels. Technically you did, but insignificantly.

You have low e2. I had similar levels, a little lower on testosterone, but similar E2. You're probably like me and are a low aromatizer.

You definitely need to increase your dose. I hope your endo isn't satisfied with these results. If they are, you won't get anywhere with him or her.

Can I ask how the Low E2 to made you feel? Was it caused by an AL?

Also how did you go about correcting it and how long did it take?

It was natural. That's just how I was before TRT, although I don't know when it started honestly. 400's for total, E2 was about 8 7-43 range standard test.

I felt like shit. All the time. Let's see, pissing all the time, thirsty all the time to a point that was just insatiable, anhedonia, horrible anxiety, hot flashes that itched like a thousand needle pricks and felt like taking scotchbrite to my skin that were caused by anxiety, and anxiety caused them, yeah it was a fun time. ED, zero libido, my penis was as sensitive as my earlobe, and over all I just wanted to die on a daily basis. There was no enjoyment, no zest, no looking forward to anything.

Honestly, the hot flashes and the thirst were the worst parts. The hot flashes hurt so bad, at times I would not be able to sit still, it was worse than having an open cut and swimming in the Dead Sea.

The thirst, I was barely able to brush my teeth without trying to drink the toothpaste, and I'd drink water until I was so full, but still thirsty. I didn't even realize most of these were happening until they went away, I thought all of this was normal, because it came on so slowly.

I can't help but believe the Testogel is a failure in your case. As has been noted so often, and as I can personally verify, many men are unable to achieve success with topical testosterone. I would abandon any further effort to raise your levels with a gel or cream and urge your physician to move you to an injection protocol. Please keep in mind that your Propecia history may complicate these efforts.

I am certainly not telling you that you should abandon hope. I'm simply reminding you that men who've used finasteride present significant challenges. Restoring and balancing the essential hormones is more of a challenge, and seeing results from those balanced levels frequently proves to be difficult.

I would abandon topical testosterone for injections. As for how much testosterone you need, don't fall into the trap of thinking you need to megadose it. My initial testosterone and e were terrible and a modest dose did the trick.

Just get injections.

I'll answer your questions you have here.

1. I'm not sure exactly, might just be coincidence.
2. Low E2.
3. You had your natural test + exogenous test since you weren't shut down. So maybe you were at 800? 450ng/dl natty test + 400 ng/dl gel = 800ish or so. These numbers are just an example but you see my point.
4. Testosterone and E2 have some strange effects, you may have just had dry skin.
5. You are severely deficient in E2, and deficient in testosterone. What do you expect? To feel great?

Thanks John !

What number would you say I should aim to get my T / E upto??

Don't chase a number. Adopt a protocol that makes sense, and test in four to six weeks. There is no "one-size-fits-all" metric to aim for. Raise your testosterone and your estradiol will follow. Pay attention to your subjective response and match it to the objective data the labs provide.
