Stopping TRT after 6 weeks, ok to quit cold turkey?

Started TRT with test cyp in Aug., first 3 weeks 100mg E3.5D. It became clear estradiol was high and doc changed it to 50mg E3.5D the next 3 weeks. No HCG and no AI initially, but added DIM-plus on week 3. On week 4 I got a Rx for anastrozole.

I didn't do well with anastrozole. 1 day after taking .25mg I injured my left knee doing squats that weren't heavy that I'd been doing for a month with no problem. Took .25mg again about 3 days later and my other knee and shoulders started hurting. Stopped the anastrozole. About 2 weeks later and both knees are still hurting with occasional popping/clicking sounds. The worst pain is right above my left knee where it burns off and on, on the inside part where the lower quad meets the knee. Hopefully, it just needs rest, there are times I think it's getting better only to hurt and make me limp around later.

I'd like to do blood work in 3-4 months and maybe re-try TRT with some changes, with more frequent and subcutaneous injections next time, get body fat down from around 20% to under 10, and see if I can get HCG from the start. I'd also like to ask the doc about test propionate. I was really bloated on the Sun Pharma cottonseed oil cyp I got from CVS.

The family jewels ached a little off and on starting around week 3 and are noticeably smaller. If I stop cold turkey with no prescriptions or supplements should everything restart fine after 6 weeks of TRT?

You need a doctor that better understands TRT. You should have been on HCG from the start and your Anastrozole dose was far too high based upon your current jint symptoms. What made your Doc think your E2 was too high in the first place? Was it actual high E2 symptoms or just a number on a test? Better doctors treat symptoms instead of just shooting for a specific number on a test.

Instead of quitting cold turkey, seek out a TRT specialist that understands the process. Prime Body and Defy Medical are both site sponsors and both come highly recommended. Quitting cold turkey is not going to be fun and it will impede your progress.

It should be okay to stop cold turkey after 6 weeks, but it will take some time. Eat clean, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, and no street drugs.
A good question would be why did you start TRT?

How did it become clear that your E2 was high? Did you have lab work to back this up...what symptoms? Why no HCG from the start?

Jesus man...get a doctor that knows what he's doing. Defy Medical would be a great place to start.

Don't just stop TRT. Your endogenous Test production has already shut down, and if you just stop "cold turkey," you are going to feel like crap.

Why don't you post up some labs, so we can see what's going on? The joint pain you're complaining about is a textbook symptom of low E2 because your anastrozole dosage is too high.

Thanks guys, unfortunately, the docs in my area aren't experts, and I probably can't afford the online route right now with my insurance. I didn't have blood work done before getting anastrozole, the doc just went by possible high estradiol symptoms I was having like water retention, hard sensitive nipples, bloated, acne. For about 10 days I was eating 1/2 the calories I usually do per day and exercising and my weight wasn't dropping or fat decreasing.

Started TRT because I had a lot of low T symptoms (age 51) and blood work was under 300.

It really sucks the anastrozole hit my knees/shoulders so hard and fast. I was under the impression cutting a 1mg tablet and taking .25mg twice a week was a low dose and relatively safe. I'm getting burning pain in my left knee right now and it's maybe been 10 days since the last .25mg anastrozole.

In 6 weeks of TRT my hair also thinned noticeably and I got chest/stomach/back acne 10x worse than I ever had as a teen. My mood and energy level were getting a lot better which I really liked, felt a lot less stress, but I'm not sure if I can put up with all the bad sides.

If you want to continue TRT, why don't you call some of the online services. To see if they are affordable for you.

Don't assume you can't afford proper TRT management. While I don't know your financial situation, ask yourself how much is good health worth? A successful TRT protocol is life-changing.

You're right. .25mg BIW is usually a good starting point for E2 management...for guys that need it. I'd really would have liked to have seen your sensitive E2 labs prior to starting the Anastrozole. The symptoms that you're describing (joint pain) sounds like your E2 is crashing, or is very low. If you didn't have high E2 to begin with, then your Anastrozole protocol (even at .25mg BIW) would be hurting you, not helping you. See where I'm going with this? It would have been nice to verify your "high" E2 with blood work, then add the Anastrozole, as required.

Why don't you post up your protocol? I'm getting this funny feeling that you're taking a large dose of Test once a week, or possibly longer??
