That's what it looks like.
is that normal?
Shouldn't there be other thing tested? And won't be levels be messed up because of the weird schedule he put me on?
Being one injection two days ago, then one injection in 4 weeks, followed by this test two weeks after that? Won't my levels be low by then again?

He's my general practitioner

I, frankly, think he's in over his head - as are many, many doctors. Did he discuss a referral with you? Not that most specialists know any better. The sad truth of the matter is that most physicians don't have a clue when it comes to hypogonadiam. He diagnosed you with testicular hypofunction, that's primary hypogonadism, did he test your FSH and LH levels? You need better medical care. At the very least, show him the chart in the earlier post, the one Nelson prepared on what various lab test mean and how to interpret them.

It's total testosterone and the rest of it is primarily the diagnosis and related codes to justify the test for billing purposes.

But as CoastWatcher said, the care you're getting is subpar.

So all it's going to show him is total testosterone?

Thats so odd.

Luckily he's very very young and understanding so I think if i present it right without making him feel like he didn't earn his degree he's be inclined to do some research or consult someone more experienced about the matter.

He is just doing step one in a diagnosis process of hypogonadism. It is probably required by his practice before proceeding with more testing.

Thanks Nelson,

I'm going to take him several documents that I've read from you and modestly ask questions concerning the points, but I guess I'll just ask what HIS plan is or how he see's this playing out because maybe your right he may just be following a required timeline and step process. I would prefer to stay with this doctor if at all humanly possible.

This is a reasonable plan. It is puzzling in light of the fact that he has already established that you are hypogonadal. Keep us posted.

Sounds like he may be open to a conversation. In my personal experience, most docs are not. That said, I'm not sure it's your job to educate the doctor. I'd suggest finding a local clinic that specializes in testosterone replacement therapy or at minimum a competent urologist. Contacting Defy is a good option as well.

Agreed, I'll check back when I find something out.

I really do believe he will be receptive, I have a good relationship with him so i have hopes he will at least hear me out. Otherwise I will have to come back and ask for your advisement on finding a clinic. I just really need it covered by insurance, I'm a full time student and am doing an internship as well as working and expecting a baby next month. Money is very tight hah.
We'll see what happens, thank you for your reply man!
