Initial Blood Test

This is a blood test from several months ago, I managed to get a copy of it today. Since this test I feel my symptoms have gotten worse and have another appointment this week for follow up, and to specifically talk about the possibility of Low Testosterone symptoms. When this blood work was initially done testosterone wasn't the primary thing the Doctor was looking at.

I was taking d-aspartic acid and tribulus terrestris, and some other supplements prior to this blood test. I have no idea how much they could have effected my T levels.

Free Testosterone 9.78 ng/dL range 1.61-19.65
Total Testosterone 391 ng/dL range 240-950
T4 1.24 ng/dL range .93-1.7
TSH 1.11 uIU/mL range .27-4.20

You're close to 400 TT and your Free T isn't bad either, some Drs might treat you and some might not. You're numbers are kind of in a grey area for treatment. I bet Defy would treat you, if your primary won't. I know Low T Center, for instance, won't treat you with those numbers.

thanks, thats what im worried about is being in the grey area, even with symptoms, doctor not willing to treat for it. I have an appointment this week, hoping they will do another blood test, since ive stopped taking any natural testosterone boosters.

It's much better to raise testosterone naturally. Do you work out, have no belly fat also Cialis can help raise your T. Supplement with zinc and D3, have a complete thyroid panel. I'm sure there are many more things you can do.

I am 29 years old 175lbs. I workout 4 times a week, weight lifting followed by cardio. I take multivitamin, vitamin d3, vitamin k, zinc, fish oil. I been trying hard as hell to increase naturally even gave up alcohol. Symptoms not getting any better.

Over the last year I've been loosing strength and I am no where near as strong as I was just 3 years ago. Ive been unable to loose any weight regardless of diet and exercise.

Have you ever done any thyroid testing? Not all thyroid tests are useful - you have to know which ones to request - but with your symptoms at your age, I would think your thyroid would be something to check in detail. Fortunately we have some thyroid experts on this forum that will likely chime in on this.

They tested my T4 and TSH for my thyroid, didn't appear to be abnormal. Thyroid was my first thought too because my sister has a thyroid problem.

New blood results

So here is my latest full lab work. Compared to my last two testosterone test this one shows me at the highest yet. It was also taken earlier in the morning which could explain that.

I will be having a consultation soon, thought I would post this and see what all of you thought.

Also looking for any input on questions I should ask the Doctor.

I am hoping that a Clomid restart will work for me, but I am open to doing whatever the Doctor recommends to start feeling better.

Thanks

I apologize if I missed it, but were any thyroid test run other than TSH run? T3, T4, and RT3 are needed to give a full picture if thyroid function. Your estradiol, though in range, is low. While there is lots of discussion of what constitutes elevated estradiol, most doctors feel that a value below 20 is too low (opening up other health concerns). That would be a reflection of your lower testosterone level - "E follows T."

Are you comfortable with your doctor? Confident in his/her ability to manage a hormone replacement protocol?

These are the test ran by defy for their inital, last time my T4 was 1.24 but never had the others tested.

I believe I will be having my consultation with Dr. Crisler, so I'm fairly comfortable from what I've heard about him.

Ok so I am starting on clomid/DIM and DHEA. Hopefully I can be a clomid success story. I will post my next labs in about 3 to 4 weeks, as well as update on any improvement on how I'm feeling.

All the best. Something to consider - start a new thread when you have your lab results. Chances are you'll draw more comments as newer threads seem to do that.
