Hello everyone. I have been reading extensively around the forum and the internet to find out as much information as I can before I go see a specialist. I'm a 31 year old male. I had late onset puberty and was kickstarted with T when I was about 16 going to be 17. I was told by my doctors at the time that the therapy worked. I hit a growth spirt my voice deepened but I think I may have been too late starting the therapy and did not have a full puberty. My testicles are not as big as I think would be normally. I was told I may be infertile at the time but never had it tested.

I never felt very athletic when I was in high school or my early twenties. I started lifting weights and eating correctly around 22 but never was able to keep up with anyone in the gym. Around 24 I decided to take steroids. I did a 10 week Test e cycle of 300 a week. In that 10 week period I went from not shaving to having a full beard. It was almost like my puberty finally finished. I felt great off cycle for years until about 27. I think what may have made me feel great was the post cycle therapy may have kick started my natural T Production. I didn't have any testing done at the time because I was young and dumb and wanted to look a certain way. I don't really regret it as that is when I met my wife and the confidence that it gave me changed my life.

So around 27 I noticed despite eating correctly I was loosing wight on my lifts. I decided to do another cycle but this time I did do pre and post blood test and when I posted them on the roid forums people were amazed and said I had low T. I can't find the original tests now. I think I also had just a total and free test. Again I felt amazing with what would be considered a nothing cycle. I did more PCT of HCG and Clomid. I had another test a few months after cycle and my T count had almost trippled and I felt great until I ripped my shoulder around 28. I didn't work out for about year after that. I currently don't lift heavy but still work out.

I eat clean but anything over about 2100 calories a day I begin to get fat. I don't smoke or drink alcohol but do ingest not smoke marijuana. I have been told that is not good for people with low T lol. Over the last year or so I have started to feel my strength go down. I get moody and have had some fatigue. I have felt my testicles shrink and I have had problems getting a hard erection, getting off and have had a much smaller amount of semen. I have a great looking wife and should be horny for her ALL THE TIME and I ounce was. I don't even find myself looking at women in a sexual way. I went to my primary doctor and was told that I'm in generally good health. When I started talking about some of my other concerns he referred me to an endocrinologist because he admitted that this was not his area of expertise.

I have that appointment at the end of January. I'm thinking about getting full blood work before I show up because I don't want the delay in getting a script written if needed. Do you guys think I should use HCG in an attempt to kickstart it again? Is that just going to prolong the inevitable. I have always been concerned with taking T on a long term basis because heart disease runs in my family but after reading more this concern my be misdirected to steroid abuse. I'm the father of 3 young adopted children and want to be around to see them grow up and take care of my family. Thank you to whoever reads my long rant here.

First, paragraphs dude. Seriously. Second, don't guess, get bloodwork and see a specialist. Look to your right and click on the Defy medical link. It's a solid place to start with a phone consultation.

Yes that was a little long of a post not to have paragraphs and I apologize. I want to get blood work and do it right. I would like to use my insurance if possible because I already pay for it but if I'm not happy with the endo I will contact defy. I do not want to self medicate with HCG. I was more asking if it would possibly work to bring me back to a normal T level.

How to Increase Testosterone Naturally, I would read this first. Hopefully it will help. https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?501-How-to-Increase-Testosterone-Naturally

I did read that article and it had some interesting points. I should loose 20-30 pounds. I do have extra weight at the moment. I eat clean very little manufactured food and sugar. I'm still a little overweight and that is one of the other frustrating things. I feel like I'm starving at the 2100 calorie range. I need to get into the 1800 range to see any weight loss. When I get into that range I just feel my strength disappear and get even more moody. I'm 6'2 and about 215 lbs.

Yes, of course get the labs now. Get as complete a fasting baseline as you can afford. Ask your primary. CBC lipids and more should be covered by insurance. Use Discounted Labs for any that are not. If you plan it right you can get the covered and not covered labs drawn at the same time which will make them more useful.

You said your serum T tripled following PCT w/ hCG @27 yrs and remained high for a year on it's own. Then you had an injury. Your energy has been ebbing accompanied by decreased libido. You are having trouble loosing the 20-30 lbs you feel necessary.

Vince is right, your history suggests a good chance of lifestyle driven restoration. You might have to eliminate exposure to environmental toxins or cut out foods you now consider healthy. Your immediate goal is diagnosis.

Personally I wouldn't waste time with a generic endo unless you know in advance that he's of the one tenth of 1% of endos who employ the latest protocols or, for that matter, any sensible HRT -if- that's what's ultimately indicated.

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks on here. After exhausting diet and lifestyle changes and with baseline labs in hand your doc should discuss a possible approach which might well be low dose hCG ( 150 - 500 iu ) with a typical frequency of 3x weekly. Frequency is increased up to daily before dosage is increased.

The pkg insert for hCG recommends up to 4000 iu hCG per dose for hypo however such protocols are uncommon. Few here see hCG mono as realistic goal. Speaking for myself its been great for 9 months and counting. IMO pp jump on aromatase inhibitor too fast or do not allow the months necessary for the body to adjust or to heal itself from chronic low serum t.

I have been unable to find any post where a reasonable person with hypogonatic hypogonadism regretted trying a low dose hCG protocol first. Your own prior experience was highly successful yet you are prudently proceeding with caution. Let that prior experience and a physician who is more interested in resolving symptoms than chasing numbers be your guide. You can always add cyp or gel later.

sublimed,
To save yourself a lot of time and frustration make sure you start off with an experienced TRT doc, If you've been reading through the site you've no doubt read about the negligence of uniformed docs, Defy is very easy and affordable I've been with them for several months now, you will probably find it's easier to just pay out of pocket than go through your insurance, it's that affordable. The only thing I would do outside of that is to have your bloods done through discounted labs unless your insur. will pay them.

I'm going to order a full blood workup when I get paid on Friday. Christmas for 3 kids has left me a little strapped at the moment. I think I will just skip the endo and go to Defy. I want to explain my diet a little more beyond just "clean". I grow much of the food I eat. Currently because it is Citrus season in Phoenix I have bushels of everything.

Breakfast

3-4 egg whites depending on how many the chickens give me that day
grape fruit no sugar

snack
nuts or an orange

lunch
salad with butter lettuce, broccoli, carrots and chicken
olive oil based dressing

snack

nuts or more citrus

dinner
Chicken and potatoes
the pototes have garlic and herb and a little olive oil

snack
nuts or fruit

I'm eating a cut diet at most times. I don't think I could eat much cleaner.

I also will drink one sprite a day. It is my vice. All other liquids are either water or unsweetened green tea. I drink over a half gallon a day of water/tea.
