I finally got into see the specialist (Endo) after badgering him....he didn't originally want to even see me. Had to wait over a month. Even my GP was stumped as to why he would not see me.

He was nice enough but no matter what I said, he kept on down the path of insinuating I was a roid user/abuser. Not in those words but close enough. Had to stop him a couple of times and ask him what he meant by continually referring to some [my] previous use of "supplements". He responded; steroids and the like. (At first I thought he was talking in the standard definition of them. Even suggested at one stage that some are tainted with steroids - I assume he was trying to get me to confess to something).

This really pissed me off as not matter what I said, I could see he did not believe me. As far as I could ascertain, just because I have hair over my body, am in good shape and can still train well, I must be on the gear. (That and my daughters were in the wait room with me because he kept repeating I must have had no problems in the past).

So in the end, he prescribed an MRI scan to check my pituatry situation in my head and a course of Clomid to start after the MRI. 20mg tablet, split in half and to be taken every second day and then blood tests after the course to see where things stand. The approach on the face of it sounds logical but looking for any input as to whether others see this as a good approach.

A 20 mg pill split in half and taking every other day is only 10 mg and such a small dose it probably won't have any effect on increasing your endogenous testosterone serum levels.

The standard protocol is 25 mg of Clomid daily to put it into perspective.

You need to find another Doctor or just call Defy and have them take care of you correctly.

Thanks Gene, I am in Australia so Defy is not possible for me. Sadly here, I get the sense you have to be almost withered away to nothing before TRT and all medicine around it becomes an option for them to prescribe. This has been about a 6 month journey just to get to this point and by the time this specialist sees me again, another 8 weeks will pass. I think you are right though about seeing another Doctor soon.

Perhaps Nelson knows of a Doc in Australia? The one you have now is hopeless and insulting all rolled into one.

Just for a frame of reference, I take 12.5mg clomiphene E3D and it takes my TT from around 337 to 775 last time I had it checked. Free T remains low at around 9 due to high SHBG. No subjective benefits.

Thanks @coastwatcher. I've bookmarked the site. I am in Nth QLD so it's a long trip but if I have no luck here, I will need to head south.

He sure is ERO. I feel like I am paying for being fit looking and if I was otherwise, he'd be more helpful. I don't feel it right that I should be saying things like; "Speak to my wife if you don't believe me!" or "If I was on roids, and was looking for help with TRT, don't you think I would just go back to my supposed source and do it all myself!!?"

I feel it a bit of a crime against men at times that Doctors in this country either don't understand TRT or are afraid of it. All the while, how many men continue to suffer (far worse than me) and I am reasonably okay relative.
