My doctor keeps telling me my blood pressure is borderline high or a bit high side he first asked me to try and reduce my salt intake now talking about maybe putting me on some meds

I've never taken any blood pressure meds before and really don't know much about the different drugs they prescribe today for it these days
I really don't want to take anything that's going to give me any kind ED or affect my libido

So my question is what drugs play well with TRT least amount of side effects?

I do also have some Polycythemia caused by the TRT but it seems to be under control with regular my blood donations

High Blood Pressure on Testosterone ( TRT )

I use Linsinopril. Never had any problems. I believe it's an ACE inhibitor. I had to double it after starting TRT. Blood pressure went way up. It's back to a pretty safe range now. I also think BP eventually goes down after starting TRT on it's own. Linsinopril is cheap t SAM'S.

Ive been using the beta blocker Metoprolol(?) 25mg daily and haven't had any detectable ED side effects. I take it for a heart condition but my BP was getting elevated in the 130-138 range aside from Tachycardia/Mitral Valve Prolapse. The metoprolol has gotten my pulse down about 10-15bpm and my BP has come down too.

This is my first post . I have been on Bystolic for 3 years and I have had success in seeing my BP decline but it has effected my ED . I was diagnosed with AFIB 10 months ago so Dr has me on ELIQUIS ( blood thinner ) I wish there was something I could do about the blood thinner but Dr says too risky for stroke if I got off of it . Can anyone relate to my problem ? Btw I am 73 years old and it seems in the last 12 months every thing has come crumbling down . As they say growing old is not for sissies .

I've been on various combinations of vasodilators and thiazides since 2005, about six years before my low T problems started, and I can't say I've ever noticed them causing ED side effects. I've done valsartan-hydrochlorothiazide and losartan-hydrochlorothiazide, as well as valsartan on its own. All depends on the individual, I think.

Edited to say: with high blood pressure it definitely pays to keep your hematocrit under control, so it's good that you're on top of that. My problems with polycythemia went away after I switched to daily T injections.

I have been on Bystolic for 5 years, no issues with ED while on it. Since being on TRT and the Bystolic too much "wood" actually, has become annoying lol. I also take Amlodopine for BP control and that's it along with the TEST C. That's all the meds I take.

Bystolic is a great drug, but VERY VERY expensive. No generic version and even with discount coupons still costs a lot.

I've been on Losartan 50mg ( an ARB) for 9 months with no sides at all. Pretty happy and BP is near perfect.

I take Benicar, once my doc stated that it was first synthesized from copper head venom, I said that is the one for me. I mean the others caused droopage, how bad could snake venom be? It works, well they both work, but SALT is my real enemy.

LUCKY! I got A-fib at 50. Had to have a cardioversion as it didn't convert on its own. Suffer a few bouts every year...take the blood thinner. You don't want a stroke.

I've been on 20mg Lisinopril for a year or two. Helped slightly. Got some Hawthorn Berry and take it 3 times a day. It rocks! BP went from around 190/90s to high 120s over mid 70's in just two or three months. Can tell the circulation in my legs and feet is much better. Last couple winters my toes were freezing all the time. This winter's been much colder and no icy toes! It's good stuff, very good for the heart. No side effects for me.
Isn't Cialis supposed to lower BP? Can't see that giving you ED problems.

have you tried Magnesium? 800mg per day, in divided doses, has lowered the blood pressure for many.

It's also a great supplement for those who are on TRT.
