In old men,as cachexia proceeds,fat tissue accumulates.Estradiol peaks and that lowers FT,because SHBG elevates.
Therefore muscle mass can lower SHBG indirectly?

Not so sure about where you are coming from. My T was >1500 and SHBG kept rising. As T went up, so did SHBG.

This has been my experience too. More T doesn't mean lower SHBG for everyone. I had a doc say that SHBG may be reactive to a sudden increase in outside T so try raising levels slowly. This helped a little in that my free T got ove 1% for the first time, but it didn't maintain... very frustrating. Boron worked for about 2 weeks then stopped. I take vitamin D and magnesium. Right now I'm trying to lower my body fat, but I feel your pain. If you have high SHBG, no one seems to have a good answer.

Higher exogenous test will typically increase SHBG due to increasing E levels. Whereas non-aromatizing androgenic steroids like Proviron will lower SHBG. There has been some debate in the past regarding the degree Proviron will inhibit HPTA, not sure what the answer is.
