I'm turning 42 this month. Had 3 testosterone test in my mid 30s. The first one was 120 TT and the final one was 210 several months later. At that point they considered it normal and quit testing. Never took started any trt before. Now I'm going through defy medical to see my options. I have all the classic symptoms. It's gotten worse over the years. Energy and vitality is generally poor. On anti depressants for anxiety. Libido has took a hit although no issues with ED at all, even when I was tested at 120. So at this point I'm just waiting to see what the blood work shows and go from there. If I'm over 500 i might not do it but if I'm less than 400 probably will. I'm not obese but I got a little bit of a gut that I can't seem to loose. I work out weekly but nothing hard core as my energy is really low.

Hey Nate. Little tip to consider, if you're going to LabCorp on a Saturday you need to make an appointment or else don't bother going, at least around me. My first attempt was on a Saturday but I had no appointment and they were slammed, so I had to push the testing back til the following week.

Got my blood work done this morning. So I have a question. With defy medical can I get the results before I do the consultation? I know where I need my numbers to be so I really don't want to move forward with trt if my numbers are good. I don't expect them to be great but you never know.

Absolutely, you're entitled to a copy of your lab results, as long as you sign the consent forms allowing us to release them to you.

You can also register with Lab Corps and get your results from their website. That's what I usually do now just go to the LabCorp website and get my results.

I was wondering about that. I hear it takes about 10 - 14 days for results. I'm used to having to wait to hear from the doc several weeks later.

If I can remember right it's usually takes 4 to 5 business days and then it's posted on the LabCorp website.

Wow thats still long.

Speaking of Canadian labs I have two large ones in my city Lifelabs and Dynacare and I am signed up online through an account to recieve my results from my blood work.

No matter which lab I take my requisition to the turn around time for results is usually 24-48 hrs but they are always there 24 hrs later.

Mind you there are specific test such as shbg and others which may have a 1-2 weeks wait but a majority of the health markers tested for blood work are done quick.

I think it takes about one day for them to receive the blood, they usually won't post the Labs until they have all of them. The Lab Corp website also post my Cleveland Heart Clinic labs, I like the Cleveland Heart Clinic Labs format better though.

I've been observing this for a while, as we have access to the results in real time, you eventually pick up the patterns. The sample is usually sent to a local lab first, where they run the majority of the tests, the CBC, CMP and sometimes Testosterone assays. You can see this as the results will have a "01" or "02" next to them, along with a corresponding lab identifier at the bottom of the page.

In 24 hours, we have most of the results back, minus the "send outs" such as LC-MS/MS assays like E2 sensitive and free testosterone. These are called "preliminary" results.

Patients are not able to see these in their portals. Once the send outs are finalized the results become available in the patient portal, Labcorp delays the release to patients by 2 days, however, they will notify the patient they are final.

E2 sensitive can take from 3-7 days for the most part. If your results come back faster than that, very likely it is not the E2 sensitive test, at least not with Quest or Labcorp.

Yep that sensitive E2 test has always delayed my bloodtest report on the LabCorp website by 10 day.
Nate you don't have to schedule anything else with Defy until you review your tests. Heck post them up here minus the private parts like your name and addy.
We can offer up some opinions. You are not alone in this.

Get a few good books and educate yourself now:
1. Get Nelsons book "Testosterone: A Mans Guide".
2. Get Lee Myer's book "Natural Versus Testosterone Therapy".
3. Get Testosterone for life - Dr.. Abraham Morgentaller .
4. Get The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual: How to Optimize Your Testosterone For Lifelong Health And Happiness by Jay Campbell.

Hey Guys. Was finally able to set up a labcorp account today. There was some technical difficulties on their site last couple day when registering. The best thing I didn't expect was all my old labs through my general doctors showed up on there as well. I had one doc that would never show me my labs so ha the joke is on him now. Anyways still waiting on my results from this latest lab work. Been checking out the books on my kindle that were mentioned here.

PCP's have to do something to make themselves feel important because the internet is replacing them. You no longer need a PCPs recommendation for a specialist. You no longer need to argue or beg a PCP to run blood tests. An most basic drugs can be bought from India with no script.

Sounds like you are on your way to knowing your blood values and feeling better. Best of luck to you Nate.
