My take on DHT here only from what I've read is that if you inject you will likely have lower levels of DHT. Whereas if you use a cream your DHT levels may be too high, or higher than lab ranges. Dr. Saya posted at one point that if your DHT is too low adding some cream to your regimen increased DHT. Apparently he also suggested that it could improve libido and sensation (assumably if you are low)

Am I missing anything or is this all we know about it... aside of the cognitive aspect mentioned by Nelson

I take finestiride supposedly to reduce bph. Doesn't it lower DHT? If so, why am I taking it?
That's an excellent question. Finasteride is a DHT blocker and DHT is a necessary hormone. On top of that, for some patients, finasteride can play havoc with libido and erectile functions. Not all, but enough that my own doctor won't prescribe it. There are far safer ways to keep your hair or deal with an enlarged prostate - the two reasons most men wind up on it.
