Hey gang,
I saw somewhere on here a note about acid stomach and cialis. I have been taking a brand of cialis from India sincerest fall. One of the docs my wife works for goes back to india at least yearly and bought a brand I have not seen on here. It works fine at 5mg/ day. Pills are 20 and not always exactly split evenly.
I have been getting acid reflux some days and taking tums more than I care to. Not every day, but at least 50% of days at some time and not all day.
Is this common for daily users?

Yes acid reflux can be a side effect of Cialis, it has subsided in me but at times I still get it.

Something you may want to try is eating ginger. My wife had acid reflux so bad that she slept more nights sitting up than laying down. She was taking Nexium and it didn't necessarily work. Someone had her try ginger and it works for her. She dropped Nexium years ago and just eats a piece of ginger when needed.

Hi Brent,
I take daily low dose cialis as well for treatment of my BPH. Reflux and heartburn are relatively common side effects. I take prisolec for this and no longer have a problem. Pretty sure it has nothing to do with your India sourcing. I get my cialis from Defy Medical and have terrible heartburn and reflux with it.
Good luck,
Steve

Thanks for feed back. I guess i will have to start using some antacids. My wife is an NP and does not like me taking nexium on long term regular basis. I forget her medical reasons, but i am sure she will remind me.

I have recently switched from low dose (5mgx2) cialis to viagra (20mgx2) to stop the heartburn and stuffy nose. So far so good.
I also have some livetra ordered to try that as well. One of them is bound to have the least sides.

Being viagra is short acting over claims long acting. Are you still getting the same effect as far as ready to go anytime?

So far yes but I only switched last week. If you believe in the steady state theory of 5 x half life of a medication = Steady state of that medication. I could still have some cialis in me so who knows right now. I am enjoying no sinus congestion or acid reflux an vascularity has not diminished.
I plan to continue my 25mg x 2 per day of viagra for all this month and then switch April 1 to livetra(sp?) and give it a month. The best one with the least sides will win.
I do use this with a modified Gene NO stack I don't know if that will effect my test but boners aren't the only reason I take this.

I had the same problem back in the day when I used to take Zoloft for anxiety. I found that if I drank it with a clear liquid that it would give me bad and painful acid reflux. So I switched to thick liquids such as milk and never felt the pain again. The first night I took my Ceebis I got the same horrible acid reflux. The next day I drank it with Almond milk and lo and behold more pain.

This is a very common side effect. I get this plus back pain, sinus stuffiness, and headaches. Cialis is not a fun drug for me. Also, side effects do not get better fast (2-3 days). I use Levitra with better side effect profile for me (but it's half-life is only a few hours long)

I found magnesium helps with the acid reflux. These drugs must be causing the esophageal sphincter to be relaxed. When I switch to empower I started getting reflux. I was told this is happening because more of the drug is getting in at the same dose. Reducing the dose should help.
