Interesting. He states that cialis can elevate psa score????
I've been taking small daily dose for a year and it lowered mine.
But, prostate cancer is something us old guys need to be viligant about.

Cialis elevating PSA????

I need to read some research on that.

I am 53 and been using it daily for over 3 years and my PSA is 1.0 or below!!!

Hell, the stuff is FDA approved for BPH for God's sake!!!

BTW, sex or any orgasm for that matter will elevate PSA significantly over base line LOL!

I'm not sure how many guys over 50 are on this forum but I would reccomend that everyone read this blog post. I'm not a close friend of this guy but I do know him and respect him, he is the real deal no BS. Ihave just recently had an elevated PSA and have been taking his "cocktail" now for about 3 weeks. I will update later how it works.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents to this discussion, and also thanks for posting this link. Last year, PSA was 2.3 (age 55) ... while not over 4, Doc said no to TRT until a uro visit, which didn't happen. I put my plans on hold. I did my own retest at LabCorp a month later, PSA was 1.4. No response from TRT doc to my request to revisit decision. One year later during routine blood work I asked for a PSA, which came back 10.1! Alarm bells and a few cash registers were ringing on that. I suspect prostatitis. Dismissed by my uro (older guy, age 75) ... he said probably not. Let's do a biopsy. Sidenote ... I was in such discomfort 3 days after the DRE ... again another sign of prostatitis, but my calls go unanswered. I also did a PCA3 urine test, which came back at 31 (anything less than 35 is considered low risk of prostate cancer). I was feeling good with that result. They still want a biopsy!

I found the above link a month ago, and started the same supplement cocktail as the author. Some of the ingredients would be considered natural therapies for prostatitis as well as cancer, so it seemed reasonable. Got my latest PSA back ... 3.6. All on my own with natural therapy. Once I get back to under 2 I'll start my quest for TRT. Don't let anyone talk you in to a prostate biopsy based on one number! Also, I need to get a better uro. But I credit that link with saving my walnut!

I would take antibiotics for prostatitis. I would also get an ultrasound of my prostate. At a PSA of 3.6 I definitely would not allow anyone to do a biopsy on me. I have been with my uncle to that procedure and I was horrified about how medieval it was.

I would also not masturbate or have sex for a few days prior to my PSA test. I would also not ride a bicycle.

Do you know how common a prostate ultrasound is? This was not offered as an option for me when I had an abnormal DRE. The urologist wanted to do a biopsy right away even though my PSA was quite low. The doc implied strongly that he would not give me TRT without a biopsy. This was before I started educating myself about TRT.

So true! It was a horrible experience for me. No way I'd do it again without some sort of general anesthesia.
