When I first went to Advanced Lipidology, Tara Dall was the owner. Since then she moved on to greater things.

Getting an error on that YouTube video.

How would you rate Advanced Lipidology without her being there? I'm considering going there once I get my NMR Lipoprofile result back next week. Maybe do a CAC scan first. Not happy with my last Defy consultation regarding my cholesterol - advice was to eat less eggs and saturated fats. What is this, 1972 advice?

Anyway, since you've posted this I've googled her and have found some pretty favorable reviews as well as some PDF's that she wrote and it seems like she really knows her stuff. I'm wondering if that translates well to the rest of the staff at advanced lipidology (it's local) or if I should try her concierge service for $450.

The owner of advanced lipidology Pauline, does a very good job with all my labs. The labs are very inexpensive even though they are the most advanced lipid panels available. If you live in Wisconsin and able to travel to Advanced lipidology that's where I would go. Before you decide on Advanced lipidology make sure Pauline or her staff goes over all the cost with you.

Thanks.

I got my NMR Lipoprofile results back and it's pretty bad. Insulin resistance score of 80 and over 3000 particles! I went in for a heart calcium scan today and should get the results back next week.

I reached out to Pauline and got some pretty good feedback on what she's capable of. I am definitely going to start going there once I get my calcium score back - although she mentioned another test that is even better because you can have plaque without calcium build up yet.

I watched about 20 videos of Dr. Tara Doll. Her and Dr. Thomas Dayspring really know their stuff!

Welcome
Dr. Dall is available for phone consultations and can
Order Advanced Labs for you regardless of where you live. Dr. Dall treats patients throughout the U.S. and internationally. If you contact Dr. Dall she will personally receive and respond to your email.
And check out the link lower-right to Fullscript for your supplement needs.

Interesting, but I don't know what labs their office considers advanced and necessary for lipid testing. Have you ordered labs and what did you think was important to get tested?

There was a VAP® Cholesterol Test which I don't see offered very often, the NMR Lipoprofile test seems to have won the popularity contest.

LifeExtension currently is running a special on blood testing, the NMR is being offered at $74.25. They also have tests for oxidized LDL panel, some panels include Lip(b),

Lipoprotein (a) I have seen under a panel offered by Private MD, the Ultimate NMR® Healthy Heart Cholesterol Profile for $253 that includes Lipoprotein (a).

I have found that when you get into the details of lipids, it's very complex, for me even more so than male hormones.

So if you do have problems with your lipids, going to a specialist is probably a good, if expensive, idea.

Advanced lipidology will run labs for $52 no matter how many. They presently have a contract with Cleveland Heart Clinic labs. To run all the labs that you want at that price. https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?6550-Cleveland-Heart-Clinic-Labs. Of course they're not the only Clinic to have that deal.

That sounds good, but I will have to call them to see if there is a
gotcha.

Like the initial cost of a consultation?, or I see on their menu each test is very narrow, like
Apolipoprotein B (Apo B) and A1 (ApoA1) is one test, then Lipoprotein(a) is another test, etc. I assume you mean EACH test is $52?

Have you already ordered multiple tests and paid the $52?

thanks for the link,i look forward to calling them.

Yes I've been going there since 2012, when Tara Dall originally owned it. They take insurance. But they have an office you have to go to, they do the blood draws in their office and also you see the lipidologist Pauline there.

That particle count certainly is quite high.

The CAC score is a good (non-invasive) method of getting clues as to potential coronary plaque burden.

The only issue with a heart CT scan, it does give you the dose of radiation. The new CT scans by GE work with very low dose of radiation.
