My last chance with DHEA

I’ve been giving dhea a try lately and it always makes me feel better the direst day or two I’m on it and then after that it goes down hill and I feel worse on it. I tried the pure brand and it worked at first but then made me worse. Anyway I’m going to give nutrakey brand a try because it says it’s “ultra micronized” so maybe it will work better. So do you think I should try this brand or do you think it will end up marking feel crappy again like the other brands? And my dhea level at my last blood was 295ug/dl. Do you think that’s a decent level anyway that dosnt need any supplement to raise it? Thanks .

It wouldn't hurt to try one more time, but it sounds like you don't need it and you receive no benefit from it.

as we talked about and to add to that, I think 295 is a bit on the higher side for guys in trt that are not supplementing, I think you see plenty of guys much lower than that. I may have said it or not but I quit testing DHEA-S a couple of years ago.

Vince jayLay is not on TRT. Hell his natural TT is in the 800's

JayLay nutrakey 's ultra micronized is not going to be any different than PURE. It is just not working for you and who knows why. Someone your age is usually up around 500.

Ya that is my current DHEA level without additional DHEA supplements added. For some reason my defy doc wants it higher but I feel like crap whenever I take it.My guess would be that my body is just converting into E2.

I also forgot to mention every time I take DHEA my body feels softer for some reason. Almost like jello. But I just got the nutrakey DHEA in and I hope it works better than all the other brands I tried

Eventually you'll give it up, I know you've been pretty committed to it, threads and posts and PMs we've had but eventually you'll say "why" and just dump it.

I would never recommend to anyone not on TRT to supplement with DHEA. I believe in men, it's only going to raise your estrogen and lower your testosterone.

I have to agree with VC. I tried DHEA every which way and the stuff is like poison to me. Never again.

I wish you luck.

The good thing is once I stop taking it those bad effects from it go away in one or two days and I feel normal again. I’m lucky it didn’t make me feel like that permanently. For some reason though my body bounces back really good and I feel better than usual once those bad side effects go away. Maybe it strengthens my adrenals even though I get negative side effects from it?

I use to not like it either but at 58 I now find it helpful... at 100mg after workouts or early afternoons. I may reduce that to 50mg soon and see how it goes. Oh and I am natural except the clomid, peptides, and cialis. Haha

Doctors seem to always want to raise DHEA levels for guys on TRT, but on this and other TRT forums, we see a lot more failure stories than we see success stories. Now I know that is anecdotal, but the numbers bear it out. Just look at what almost everyone here has said so far.

Guys not on Test seem to find it a lot more useful than guys taking Test.

I liken it to how we approach E2, it's not a number on a test but how you feel, but DHEA is one that get's treated solely because of a number on a test which is a real flaw. Like an AI, start very low, titrate up slowly, judge tolerance/response.

Until you report that number with the non sensitive E2 test then all hell breaks out around here from the regulars.
