Do guys on TRT have more libido than a Healthy-Normal guy?

Hi,

I have secondary hypogonadism since my early 20s probably, before starting any sexual activity. By the time I started, I realized I had these issues with low T, so tried TRT, and became horny as hell. I don't think I felt like that not even when I was 16-18, etc. So I suspect that being on TRT and aiming for 800-1000 TT range, should provide a better libido than a regular guy who may have otherwise normal ranges say 500s, 600s, 700s..

Does this make sense or is nonsense? - Please let me know.

I would say that libido is the same but physically I could have sex 3 times per day now that I'm on TRT and HCG and my total T is 650. That was never possible when I was younger.. the best I could ever do was twice a day when young. The sad part as we age is the wife is not as interested as we are. I am also secondary due to being hypopituitary. I had low testosterone when younger but it didn't affect me until I was 40.

Libido is far too complex an issue - chemical, environmental, psychological, and historical - to be reduced to a number. We have members with strong sex drives posting total testosterone values in the 600s; we have others with results near 1000 that are uninterested in sex...to their dismay. It's simply not linear. But it's great to know of your success.

A few years ago before I became hypogonadism my libido and sex drive was insane, I could easily have sex 10-15 times a day! I've always been a super honey guy and it's always been a big problem whenever I had a GF who had a low libido, I never understood how even a younger women wouldn't be as interested in sex as much as I was. I was ready to go again within the same hour as having sex and it became an real issue because I was ready and she wasn't, resentment soon followed. I will never even consider dating anyone who doesn't want sex at least twice a day minimum!

I've always assumed that this insane sex drive has more to do with my (hyper attentive) ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome,together both of these super charge my central nervous system and give hyper focus and cat like reflexes.

I agree with this. The numbers to libido is not a direct correlation for a lot of guys. In my own case, I started TRT at age 62 and had average weekly sex, although I wouldn’t have minded more. TRT brought my libido back about 25 years or so to the early years of my marriage. Our sons are all grown and we’re empty nesters so wife and I can have sex whenever we want, which is great. I need pde5s to keep up with the desire, for me desire and ability are not in sync, but I’m ok with that. I do find a slight difference when my total T is over 800 as opposed to 700 or less, but that may be placebo effect. I also find that how my wife looks, what she’s wearing, her attitude and behavior, time of year, time of day and so on have a huge effect on my desire for her.

CW is right, it’s a very complex behavior.

My libido is now basically the same as it was in my 30s, even when my T was lower (before TRT) I had a strong libido.

Yes that's an interesting point. I was the same even when I could barely get an erection, I still had strong libido. There was a point when 1.) I could hardly get it up and 2.) when I did I had no feeling whatsoever. This meant no orgasm but I wanted to try daily anyways. So I believe this somewhat defines libido. What a difference for me now. I can have good sex twice per day easily. It's just that the wife would prefer not to... just the way the ball bounces.

Mine is very high when im on T. That sounds great but when you are older and have an insane sex drive, you constantly think about sex. Even the ugly cashier starts looking attractive. Its actually very counter productive and you it could lead to bad decisions.
Also, its rare that your significant other will have a sex drive comparable to yours and that leads to many problems.
also, when you are older and have an insane sex drive you come across as a wierdo or some kind of pervert to others.
this is particularly problematic in serious business settings. It looks bad.

never be ashamed of this, most women need serious help in the libido department. most are borderline impotent completely changing them as a person. if they refuse help find another woman as your current one is ****ed in the head. the widespread use of birth control impairs millions of women's sex drive from when they are a teenager. a lot of females have problems when older too like men and they need to be on hormone replacement as well to have a healthy sex drive.

I always said high T levels make you see the beauty in everything thats ugly..
the higher the T level, the lower the standards..
when you are on T, you probably visit porn sites once a day. When off, never..,

Good post. I agree, and am fortunate that my wife has a libido that matches mine. The more I read what other guy's go through, the more grateful I am.

As far as the cashier comment goes, that is true. You start rationalizing with thoughts like “ Yeah, but she has great eyes...” I am also fortunate that I am attracted to older women that are attractive and keep themselves in good shape. Not sure what that's all about or where it comes from, but I am glad that my wife fits the profile. I'd hate to have this level of libido and be attracted to 22 year olds. Wouldn't be very good...

Goodlord I hope this doesn't happen to me once my T is dialed in.
The last think I need is my little head trying to tell my big head what to do, again, that got me into a lot of trouble in my late 20s.
