Just received my latest blood results, if anyone could advise on these as well as "free" & Bio, it would be appreciated
I am presently taking 2 x Testo Gel sachets per day (2 x 50mg sachets) 5g gel per sachet.

Results;
Testosterone 42.8 nmol/L
SHGB 52 nmol/L (has come down from 72)
Free androgen index 82.31
Oestradiol 151 pmol/L
Albumin 43 g/L
PSA 1.1ug/L
HCT 0.472

unsure with these results if Free testosterone and bio testosterone are good or bad??

the free testosterone is showing 0.832 nmol/L = 1.94 % (someone explain good or bad)

Bio testosterone 19.5 nmol/L = 45.6 % (again can someone explain)

If you look at some of the other posts that incl lab results you'll see that they have a range. Being that you are in Scotland your results are also in metric. No one is familiar with your numbers. So it's doubly important to have the range as well.

Have at look at this post and you'll see the ranges there

thanks my friend, I guess if someone needs "ranges" and does not understand how to use the conversion tool then their input would be similar to their ability.

Anyone on long term TRT does not need ranges as they already know what the ranges are.

same as when you look you will see the total Testosterone is exceptionally high
SHGB is still high although the Higher Testosterone has dropped it from previous readings

Free and Bio were what I was looking for input on, but ideally from someone who has the ability to use a conversion tool and from someone who already knows what the ranges should be,

We always ask for ranges. It's a matter of common sense and simple courtesy. Every lab establishes their own ranges which means a doctor, and thus a patient, will be evaluated differently. Discussion flows more freely when they are in view. We don't simply note something is high or low, we are able to engage as to what course of action a doctor may suggest...for better or worse. For example, in the US, is a reading of total testosterone from LabCorp that comes in at 1079 high or low? Last May it was comfortably inside the upper range, a desirable value. Today, due to LabCorp revising their ranges, it's out of range. Guys are having their protocols adjusted on the testimony of a number. The range makes a difference.

Hi Fox1 - here are the UK ranges (seem to be most regularly used) for the Test and SHBG

Ranges:

TESTOSTERONE nmol/L 7.60 - 31.40
SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOB nmol/L 19.00 - 83.00

I would suggest at

Testosterone 42.8 nmol/L (HIGH)
SHGB 52 nmol/L (NORMAL)

You are overshooting on the TestoGel - 42.8 nmol/l looks like 1100 ng/dl in USA terms if I'm reading the calculator correctly.

2 sachets a day took me to only normal Test range, and I had to force my SHBG down with Proviron. Might be worth considering reducing the Test to one sachet a day (lot cheaper also) but I suppose that really depends on how you actually feel. I recall you are under the advice of an Endo / Urologist at Edinburgh ??

Ian, you are fairly spot on with total Testosterone, I am normally around 32, for the past month I have been shaving shoulders, chest & top of thighs daily prior to applying the Gel. Once applied I have been rubbing in moisturiser after around 2 hours. Hence my normal average 32.0 nmol/L has risen to 42.8 (this is still on the two sachets).

My Urologist did advise dropping to 1.5 sachets, but I informed him of the above and requested to continue on 2 without the shaving & moinsturiser, for a further set of readings.

The Higher Testosterone did drop my SHGB from a high average of 70 down to 50, I simply tried this out to check my "Free Testosterone" as this is my main concern at this time

sadly there is little information on what ideal "Free Testosterone" should be.

Thanks for the reply, out of interest where did you get your ranges, I didn't put ranges in as they always come back with blood results, shows your result then range in brackets next to result

Every lab establishes their own ranges !!! is that how it works in USA???? you sure about that. I know you consider us backward / less advanced, here in UK, but the Testosterone range for whole UK is set as a standard, it doesn't change from lab to lab, from hospital to hospital

The main input I was looking for was Free Testosterone & Bio, but very little input, I suspect I know why

I'm sure the lack of response has nothing to do with your attitude or forum etiquette. Not everyone in America thinks that the UK is "backward / less advanced". Maybe some of the people here have jobs and lives outside of this forum and prefer to not have to go to a converter to assist you with your question in the few minutes they may have to pop on this forum.

I hope it does make you feel better in some way to belittle members for simply trying to assist you with your question.

Hey Fox. Nice bike. I ride too. People in the States don't look down on the UK. UK is like a sister country and everyone I know thinks that the UK is great. Not sure if you realize it but your posts are not so nice - bit of an attitude.
