According to the CDC, 75 million adults in the United States have high blood pressure. A new study conducted at the University of Eastern Finland's Department of Medicine reported that 1,621 men, aged 42-60 and sauna users, were observed over an extended period of time.

  • Men who had two to three sauna sessions every week were found to have a 24 percent lower risk of developing high blood pressure than those who had no sauna or one sauna session.
  • The hypertension risk for men who had four to seven sauna sessions weekly was 46 percent lower than those men who had no session of one session weekly.

Regular use of sauna can improve function of endothelium - the tissue lining blood vessels - which can improve blood pressure.
