Do you think I would benefit from a trt protocol?

Hi everyone, i'm trying to determine if a trt, hcg or clomid protocol is worth trying. All replies are greatly appreciated, thank you.

I'm a 28 yo male. 6'3.5", 176lbs, 13.5% bf

My primary complaints are depression, social anxiety and fatigue. I'm also experiencing ED and have a very poor libido.

I've tried several SSRIs, Wellbutrin and Adderall. Adderall has helped a great deal with the depression and fatigue, but has increased the anxiety and makes it impossible to get an erection. Also, I don't like the idea of taking it long term.

I've had a sleep study done, no sign of sleep apnea.

I've had testosterone (Total only) checked about a dozen times over the last decade. They've always been between 290-400 ng/dl (250-1100).

I recently had an appointment with an anti-aging specialist who did more comprehensive blood work.

Here are the results:

TSH 1.31 (0.4-4.5)
T4, free 1.3 (0.8-1.8)
T3, free 3.6 (2.3-4.2)
LH 4.9 (1.5-9.3)
FSH 14.1( 1.8-8) H
DHEA 459 (85-690)
PSA 0.5 (< 4)
Testosterone, Total 377 (250-1100)
Testosterone, Free 63 (35-155)
Estradiol 54 (<39) H

She thought I would benefit from 50 mg of testosterone cypionate 2x a week, 500iu of HCG 3x a week and 1 mg anastrozole 2x a week.

Do you think I would benefit from increased testosterone? If so, what do you think about this protocol? Also, why do you think my FSH is evelvated while my LH is normal?

Thanks for reading. I would really appreciate your advice.

You certainly don't need two milligrams of Anastrozole. That is a likely ticket to bargain-basement levels of estradiol. Its always easier, and more prudent, to manage e2 carefully. One half a milligram, prepared by a compounding pharmacy, administered twice a week, would be where I'd start.

What were her thoughts on your elevated FSH? And why the somewhat significant dose of HCG?

Yeah, 2mg seems excessive based on everything I've read. I wish I could avoid anastrozole altogether, unlikely based on my baseline reading. I'll talk to her about lowering the dosage if I decide to do this.

She didn't discuss the elevated FSH during our appointment. I hadn't seen the labs yet, so I didn't ask.

Do you think 500iu 3x a week is too much?

I don't think 500 IU of HCG three times a week is necessary, unless you're trying to remain fertile. I use 500iu every three and a half days to keep my testicles full. I would try to go without the AI and do Labs again in 7 weeks after starting protocol, if you decide to go with trt. Some men use Everyday injections to try to avoid AI. I'm using Easy Touch 27 gauge half inch syringes, they're easy to eject with and works good for a shallow IM.
