The Future of Health Care

Where will you guys see the future of Health Care? I personally see the traditional Primary care physician figure disappearing quiet a bit when the older population will be gone, I'm not intending to offend anybody in the Forum, but nowadays with all medical studies published on line and forum like Excelmale.com, we the patients are already prepared and most of the times even more informed then the Doctor on the subject, always referring to the family Doc, frankly the relationship between a doctor and patient changed, of course there are exceptions, I personally define an antiaging Doctor probably the best figure to go for general health.

Is preventative medicine the future? most likely the present for people on ExcelMale, let's consider Health Insurances as well, it looks like affording health insurance will be harder and harder, will out of pocket, with reasonable prices for services, becoming the future?

What would you say are the health care specialist of the future that will be booming? Antiaging Doc, Health Coaches, Dietitian/Nutritionist?

I think we will see a boom in concierge medical clinics that exist outside of the health insurance network, but will pay a monthly or annual fee. People will still need catastrophic insurance. Hopefully greater access to HSA accounts will assist in this. I guess that these clinics will have specialists in all areas (anti-aging, health-coaches, nutrition.

It is hard to say...interesting question.

Most people I know, try to avoid going to the doctor. They wait until they have of very bad medical condition. With a high cost of doctors, hospitals and even meds. The average person dies in debt, and I'm sure it's because of the high Medical bills.

exactly, I believe this is the "old" pattern of thinking about health care, like my parents...I often encouraged them to go for a check up and the answer is: why should I go to a doctor if I feel ok, so that when symptoms occur traditional Doctors would treat the actual symptom, I think things are changing

I hope you're right, I don't believe it though. At least the young men I know. :)
