Any feedback on this one would be appreciated.

I have been reading up on Metformin as an off label anti aging product and thinking of adding it to my protocol.
In theory it helps with insulin resistance which would help maintain body composition (and has anti cancer benefits as well.)
Its the body composition which interests me because as we age the cells aren't so receptive and don't take in glycogen as efficiently as a younger body which stops us older guys maintaining that fuller look.

Just wondered if any other members were running this as an off label product.

I started Metformin this month in hopes of lowering my HCT. I take 250mg twice a day. I think it's working because I don't feel the effects of HBP like I did before - no flushed face, heart pounding or headaches. I'm also eating half a grapefruit each morning. My next labs in a couple months will tell the tale.

I take 500 mg twice per day. I do not have insulin resistance or high blood sugar. I took it because of these benefits and discovered that my gut issues got better. The only bad thing is that I can lose weight and lean body mass fast on Metformin.

Metformin Dosage

Hi everyone. I've been reading this forum for about 6 months now. Just decided to register and make my first post. I recently started on Metformin to help with insulin resistance and weight loss. I am currently taking 500mg ER once per day. I don't notice any side effects and I feel fine. I suspect that 500mg ER once per day is a bit on the low side. I'm always interested in optimal dosages when taking meds so I am going to bump up to 500mg ER two times per day (1000 mg total per day). I am hoping this will help me maximize benefits. Do any of you notice benefits when going higher than 1000mg per day? I've read that 2000mg per day is a good maintenance dosage but that seems a bit high for me, and probably better suited for individuals with serious type II diabetes.

I see Nelson Vergel posts here regularly so this must be the place to be for TRT.
