Hello, all.

Long story short my testosterone was low(195), and I’m 32 years old. Doctor put me on testosterone cream. 50mg/1ML once per day

I rub that on my rib cage, and let it dry for 5-10 minutes before putting shirt back on.

Should I do something different? Take more or less?

My sex drive is there, but it’s not working. I go soft shortly after, and it’s embarrassing. My girlfriend is understanding, but it’s just me getting frustrated.

thank you!

Not everyone is going to respond well to the cream. You should be using the cream twice daily because the half-life is very short (couple of hours).

I didn't respond well to the cream, I felt it immediately after application, but a few hours later I would feel a crash and would have had to dose it several times a day which isn't practical.

I was using 200mg, 20% cream, .25ml which is the most powerful topical from Empower Pharmacy.

My doctor probably won’t make any changes until my next blood test, which is scheduled two months out, but I’m going to request we go through Empower Pharmacy instead of the local compound pharmacy here. I’m taking the 5% cream

My doctor has included 5 refills, so maybe I can use that two double up, or should I split the full application and break it up two times a day?

Thank you!

It’s not clear from your post how much total you’re applying.

IME, cream was very effective for libido/EQ. However, I needed 150 mg/day (100 mg AM, 50 mg PM) to get there.

I’m applying 50 mg once per day in the AM.

But I may try that. I crashed today around 2/3 PM. I just wanted to sleep.

That’s not enough for most people. Not surprised to hear how you’re feeling. I recall feeling the same crash early evening on a cream protocol in which I applied 100mg/day, AM only.

Going forward, you will want to use 200mg/ml cream. Topi-Click dispensers make cream a lot easier - with each click, 50mg is dispensed. My protocol was one click applied to scrotum, one click to wrist/inner forearm in AM (two clicks total AM). Then 1 click PM.

I felt like I got better results applying immediately after showering, and would shower AM and PM.

If I were you, I would get whatever refills you can, begin applying more asap, and in the meantime find a new doctor/provider asap.

Thank you for the response! It definitely brings some clarity.

Do you think I'd have a problem with requesting my doctor to use Empower Pharmacy instead of the local compounding pharmacy here?

I have 5 total refills on the 50 MG per 1ML, so I may see if they can go ahead & refill it. I'm unsure if that'll be a problem or not.

I started doing 100MG in the AM only, and I feel okay. No activity at all below the belt, and it's frustrating. My erections weren't strong at all, but at least it somewhat worked.

I found a doctor in Kentucky that was recommended on this forum, and I have an appointment on May 17th, so hopefully he knows more.

Whether or not your doc would use Empower for your rx is really up to your doc. That said, there’s nothing magic about Empower’s cream and cream is not particularly difficult for compounders to produce. I used cream from both a local compounder and from Empower and didn’t notice any difference. Also, your local compounder can likely fill Topi Click dispensers too.

Be aware that erectile issues are multifaceted and hormones are only part of the picture. That is the main reason I began TRT. I also had very little success at first. Lots of success now. It takes time, patience, and lot of self-experimenting. I’ve tried many cream-based and injection-based protocols over the past few years and still wouldn’t say I have it totally figured out. But getting there.

I believe the combination of hormones and 5mg daily Tadalafil was the key for me. Hormones do help with overall penile health and things like nocturnal erections. But the Tadalafil may be more effective for erections when it comes to sex.

Also be aware of the huge psychological component to ED. It’s stressful and even the slightest bit of pre-sex anxiety about “will I go soft this time?” can be a huge component. Having a partner you trust and being able to work through it together is key. Can’t imagine trying to deal with it while just dating, etc.

Try some drugs like sildenafil, tadalafil. And remember you’re not the only one dealing with this and to go easy on yourself. There’s a reason every other commercial on TV is for these drugs. It’s a very common issue.

Thank you so much!

I'm in a new relationship, but she has been pretty understanding which I'm very thankful for. But I keep going against that psychological mindset, and I end up getting frustrated.

I just contacted my doctor and told him nothing is working; Just waiting on a call back. I'm wondering if he will prescribe me Cialis based on what I reported, but we shall see. If he doesn't go that route, and just tells me to be patient how can I get Cialis?

And I appreciate the support you're giving me here. It's much appreciated, and shows me I'm not alone.

Your doctor very likely will prescribe you 5mg daily Tadalafil. Definitely go generic and make sure you use a GoodRx coupon...the difference in price is unbelievable.

If your doctor refuses to prescribe Tadalafil, which would be extreme based on the low risk nature of the drug and the symptoms you’re experiencing...

1. Order Ceebis from AllDayChemist or ReliableRx and quarter the 20mg tablets with a pill cutter. I’ve never used either but guys here on this forum have. Maybe one of them will chime in.

2. Find a new doc. No reason a doctor should deny that rx given your experiences.

I should add here that I’m now on low dose/frequent injections + daily Tadalafil. However, I HAVE had success with cream too, which is why I initially chimed in.

Don’t get frustrated with yourself. Not to be cheeky, but use this as an opportunity to improve your oral skills. Your gf will almost certainly appreciate your efforts there and you’ll likely enjoy it too. All good things in time my man. Work through these things together and watch your relationship grow.

Thank you for the response again!

I still haven't heard back from my doctor, and it's getting frustrating, but I agree with you. My girlfriend read that message from you, and she was like "No improvements needed" lmao. But, I think it's awesome she is super supportive, and doesn't get mad for my current issues.

But, I have an appointment scheduled with a doctor on May 17th here in Kentucky. I found his name on this forum, so hopefully it goes well. And I may call to see if there are any openings, so my wait isn't so long.

If my current doctor prescribes me a low dose of Cialis(5MG) I'll be happy. I need something to get me through. I'll check out those sites for generic cialis.

I eventually want to move to Empower, just from all of the positive comments I've read.

But thank you again!

Well,

Sadly my doctor denied me Cialis, and said we will see how it goes until June 16th(my next appointment).

I put in an order through ReliableRX for generic cialis. It’s about $30 with shipping. But I’m now in the process of searching for a doctor.
