There isnt any going back in time before trt. You cant just stop trt after this long (even a year ago) at over 40. Part of the reason this is all a big disappointment
why can’t you stop. You will go back to where you were before t
I did. I’m 40. I have a little less energy but at least I can sleep and don’t have high anxiety anymore
i just stopped again. Little more pain off of it. But much better mentally.

I get the same thing it’s like some hormonal sweet spot we pass through. But eventually I’m back to where I was before trt

So how long has it been? A year? 6 months? How long have you went without ANY HCG OR TESTOSTERONE or ANYTHING (clomid etc)??? Went 2 months if the hole that kept going deeper and filling in ontop of me was going magically stop and reverse how much longer did I need to go?

Went to gym today and guess what. Hit a brick wall HARD for again no apparent reason and now my mood is in the crappier yet again.

Daily 5mg Cialis needs to be given some time to work. Try it for a month.

Ok that's what I was wanting to find out thank you. So if I go a month and nothing, then it should be safe to rule out that being a fix. Dr recommended that over viagra, but does anyone know if viagra has to be used x times before you know if it's going to work?

Look into GoodRX. I have seen coupons for 90 5mg tablets for $40 here in NY. Im talking generic tadalafil.

Wow. 30 tablets for $30 at Walmart (live in Oklahoma so bigger savings are pharmacies that aren't here) but still way cheaper. Even if I have defy write me a script ($30 + $30 = $60, for 30 days compared to $100 for 40 days.)

Of course not oral disintegrating tablets. But I can live with that.

I went a few year stretch after I tried it the first time back in 2009. In 2018 I was on for close to a year and it’s been over a year off. Then I tried gels for about two months. Didn’t like the sides so I quit early this time. I’m off a few weeks now

You should consider getting your Cialis from all day chemist. I am a patient of Dr. Morgentaler in Boston, and his protocol is up to 30 mg of Cialis for sex if needed. What I do is I take Cialis and combine it with Viagra. It works fantastic. You shouldn’t allow the price of these meds to get in the way. Indian pharmacies such as all day chemist are very reliable.Keep a steady amount of Cialis in your system at all times, and when sex is planned start with 50 Viagra and adjust up or down.Just be sure you have your doctors approval on whether or not your heart is capable of dealing with it. There’s a better than average chance that it probably is.

your local doc can write you a script if you have one. probably for nothing.

Interesting with the cream and decreased libido/ erections, but improved mood. I’m experiencing the same. My mood seems a little better than on injections, but sexual function is a little down. What was your TRT protocol(s) on injections?

Still on injections. 3x week, 100mg divided. The cream ws supplemental.

Tonyp56,

If nobody has called it out yet - and I don't remember seeing it - it seems as if you're still overweight.

Not trying to harsh on you at all, but overall health and fitness is THE most important thing you should be focused on at this point.

Not saying this is you, but in general, we see lots of guys come on here that are down on TRT as if it was some sort of magic pill that didn't work. Sometimes, the underlying issue has nothing to do with TRT. Guys come on who are obese and say "TRT didn't work for me and I still don't feel good!"...well come on, is TRT really the issue? Other guys will post up and say "TRT gave me anxiety!" but then we learn they have been struggling with mental health issues their whole lives.

Best of luck to you man. With hard work and persistence you will get to where you want to be.

6-17-17 thru ~5-2018 Universal Men's Clinic
First injection following Defy 7-2018...
I'm 42 years old now and my original main reason for getting checked out was because of fatigue after the gym or any physically demanding task. For instance, helped sister in law move, felt fine (was In good shape) caring boxes, but for 3 days after felt absolutely dead, no energy, couldn't get erections and so on. Stuff like this kept happening, so decided to go get checked. Thought, "mens" clinic would know rather or not it was testosterone or not so went. Currently weigh 242 pounds (I'm 6-0) down from ~256 in July, so I've been trying to lose weight, not super strict, just trying to eat "clean" most of the time avoiding as much junk as I can. At a slight deficit.

Anyways current protocol is .2 ml (40mg) of testosterone cypionate (changed from .18 at my consult on 11-19) EOD, .1 mg of anastrozole EOD, and 500 iu of hcg twice weekly. Along with this I take magnesium, fish oil, a multi, and vitamin D. I'm not a picky eater so eat wide range of foods, from fish to beef, most all vegetables, etc so should be getting nutrients. Dont drink at all and dont do drugs except advil for mainly headaches or doms sometimes. I use to dip (18 years), smoked for a year when quitting and then went to vaping so I'm a vapor for last 6 years or so.

I try to go gym 3 days a week. I'm trying to gain strength more than build muscle (my focus is more on powerlifting and less on body building, because I enjoy that more, doing 100 sets of curls is very low on my interest). This was actually the first struggle. I went 3 years plus with out missing more than a couple training sessions, after starting trt I have went months without training, several times (I'd take off for 2-3 months, return for 1-3 months, then miss another 2-4 months so on). Seems to be an absolute lack of drive, I just cant get motivated. Currently I've been training about 2 months. Do I see some changes? Strength wise maybe a little but that is quickly squashed when dont have energy or just lack of drive to go.

Erections have gotten better with defy, pretty much for that year I was at universal mens clinic I couldn't even get an erection, let alone maintain it. However, that said continues to be a struggle and an unpredictable situation. (Have no way knowing if it will work and cant even predict if it will or wont) when it does work, it is not even fully erect.

Mood issues. I've delt with depression in my life, but after trt is is relentless! I keep going from feeling fine to being deeply depressed back to fine. This is new and started from first injection on 6-17-17 has just gotten worse. Last Tuesday's consult was the latest, it was such a disappointment, it ruined my whole week.

My consult on 11-19 was a disappointment. First in year and a half at defy I've never consulted with dr. I have consulted with nurse practitioner, and I like her. But thought, since I continue to have trouble if I talk to Dr directly maybe he can help. Of course, set it up with Dr Saya himself. $165 got called 20 mins late and my consult lasted 17 mins! What was his "help" 1) change my testosterone injection to .2ml from .18ml, which was changed at last consult (so not the fix for issues) said free t would like it around 30 and mine is 23 something but dont know this will do anything, 2) add a trial of thyroid to see if I'm someone that would benefit from thyroid meds even though normal blood levels to increase energy, 3) add low dose cialis/tadalfil daily for erections.

I've ordered thyroid meds, will see, but doubt they will do anything. $100 for 40 days worth (tadalfil) is beyond what I can afford (basically I'd have to pay out $100 ~every 3 weeks, no way ontop of everything else). Never mind that I cant afford it, dont even know if it would work and that's a big price for that.

It was like he wouldn't even listen to me or consider that my issues continue to plague me. Had talked about possibly TRI-MIX last consult with nurse practitioner and was wanting to ask about that and he instantly shut it down, which is fine dont want injection, but didnt even give me a chance to ask how likely would I ever be of getting erection on my own after TRI-MIX. And besides something in protocol is causing issues in my opinion, Hcg?

Anyways anyone know alternatives or ideas? Went to Roman, doubt will find cheaper solution but want to, NEED to try something. Would like to find new clinic too. Having to get a yearly physical and explain Defy is getting harder. Along with I'm sorry, in my opinion, lack of interest in patients.

Labs. I know everyone here likes seeing them. My triglycerides were 231, disappointment here too, considering I've been losing weight and trying to eat better, Dr's fix, avoid carbs and increase fish oil from 2,000 to 4,000 mg. (Cholesterol is total 164, hdl is 41, vldl 46, ldl 77) Glucose was high (102) wants more testing at next labs (this too was disappointing) estradiol sensitive 21pg/ml 8-35, total t 879 ng/dl 264-916, free t 23.2 pg/ml 6.8-21.5, dht 45. Shbg 19.5 nmol/l
1mg of anastrozole is alot i always had trouble w

Best of luck to you man. With hard work and persistence you will get to where you want to be.

Well first. I was 300 pounds in
August 2013, hadn't ever been to a gym as an adult (not since high school) and got down to 162.2 pounds September 2014 (I can show pics if I have to). November 2014 started "bulking". Cardio (Hitt mostly, and primary focus at gym has been powerlifting, have competed in a few meets). I struggled with my energy issues THROUGHOUT, slow progress, but like I said after a meet, after helping sister in law move, and anything that was physically demanding I'd be DEAD, not just tired or no energy, freaking dead. NO ERECTIONS for good 2-3 days too. This is why i seeked out HELP! I was working hard, trying my best, but being dead after was happening more and more.

SO, I didnt go to dr because I was a fat ass lazy guy that thought trt was going to be some magic bullet (I NEVER WANTED TRT, hoped that they wouldnt put me on it, of course pcp had no clue why I was having energy issues (May 2014 went and was slightly anemic, told to take muti with iron and if that didnt help next step was testosterone, and I did not trust them with trt because they believed in once a month shots, so thought--3 years after pcp said testosterone was possible issue--"mens clinic should know best and if I have to be on trt they'd know that too").

I gained ~30 pounds within month and a half of starting trt (even with low e2, never understood with water just flowing through me like it was) and like I said I DID NOT miss the gym until TRT (maybe 2-3 times missed in about 3 years, ive varied the number of days, 7 days down to 2 days a week, 3-4 days is my favorite schedule, I'm a welder and physically active at work too (up and down ladders etc...) after, I've missed say close to 40% from 6-17-17 until now!! Erections, sure was having trouble before, especially after physically demanding, but went from say 2 and 3 (2 times every 5 times wouldn't work) to 5 and 0 for 10 months or so. Then went to 50/50 that I could get an erection, however, it was less than 50/50 that I could maintain.

Anyways instead of judging where I am might want to consider where I've been and even am still. Where I was before trt and how it screwed it all up. Does trt help some? Sure bet it does, but it doesn't work for everyone. Do I need to lose more weight (actually for the year I'm down from 275, but was holding lots of water, 256 or so was where weight finally settled) sure, but not going to drop to 1900 calories a day so i can lose weight in 8 weeks or something and end up losing more muscle that I already dont have.

My goal right now is about 1/2 a pound a week, and I'm pretty on. (Might adjust calories down slightly here next couple weeks and thought about doing a super low carb diet for couple weeks (50g or so a day, how I lost before 1950 calories and 50g carbs a day. But dont want to do long term super low carb). Additionally, I'm doing this all in a up hill battle against my apparent opposite effect on drive. I've lost a lot of drive to enjoy or do things (go to gym, sex, and pretty much everything to be honest. In other words, I'm losing weight and fighting to stay healthy without really wanting/feeling like it.

I'm in no way saying trt doesn't work or whatever, it just screwed ME up. And to be honest 2 1/2 years in I wish I would have said HELL no. But guess hine sight is 20/20.

And again, ANYONE that has issues are automatically marked by others and DRs as "there must be something else wrong, trt is perfect and works great for everyone and someone worse after has to be x or _________" instead of listening, taking info and making trt better, its ignored.
