Testosterone use & potency in a Glass Ampule past expiration date

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge if a unopened single dose Glass Vial of Omnadren/Sustanon 250 is still good to use after 2-3 years past the expiration date?

Potency may have declined slightly. However, the only real concern is the active life of the sterilizing agents within the vial. If those are no longer viable, the vial could be unsterile.

Omnadren or Sustanon come in a glass ampoule.

The majority of esterified testosterone/AAS whether packaged in ampule/vial will contain excipients such as benzyl alcohol and benzyl benzoate which act as preservatives, solvents, and/or viscosity decreasing agents.

Legitimately produced testosterone/AAS come packaged with a leaflet (product information). When looking under the shelf-life/stability section it usually states anywhere from 3-5 years from the date of production.

The expiry date is 3 years on average.

An unopened ampule/vial should still be ok to use 2-3 years past expiration date as esterified testosterone is very stable, mind you there may be degradation in the potency/purity post-expiration date and no one can say with certainty to what degree.

The carrier oils used are highly refined/purified so they should remain stable for a long time and the preservatives benzyl alcohol or benzyl benzoate should also remain stable for a long time.

What is critical is that you look closely to make sure the oily solution does not contain any particulate or that there is a change in color/consistency of the oil as it should be a clear pale yellow solution (arachis oil) and at room temperature, it should flow smoothly when you turn the ampule/vial upside down or tilt side-side.

What I would be more concerned with is whether your medication is pharma grade (prescribed) or UGL as the potency let alone sterility is highly suspect when using the latter.

Reassuring to know! Any idea why Empower and other compounded pharmacies use a 6 month expiry after production as compared to big pharma which is as you stated much longer?

I am pasting the below from from 3 days ago verbatim as posted on T Nation by another user:

I finally used up the nearly expired vials, and switched to a newer one. The results have been shocking to say the least. My fuse has been a little shorter, and libido is sort of back (but better when I take a few Cialis).

Got labwork done the other day:

FT: >50
E2: 61.4 (7.6 - 42.6 pg/mL)

Without even posting the T ranges, I think it’s easy to see these are literally off the chart!

I’ve seen no real benefit from going this high, but damn, the variance between bottles is so frustrating.

I am not sure if there is any difference in the procedure used/testing of products when compounding esterified T.

This is shocking as both of the vials were still within the expiry date and even than potency should still remain somewhat past the date.

I have vials over a year old that I have used and there was absolutely no difference in blood work although mine were big pharma as I have never used compounded T.
