Hi all:

I have been taking 2.5mg of daily Tadalafil for about 3 weeks now. Side effects haven't been too bad, but I have noticed a few. Namely:

1. Pain in both elbows. I notice it mostly when I put my elbows on a table, a bit of a sharp pain.

2. A nodule on my left wrist just below my palm. The veins on my forearms are more prominent in general, although the nodule is a bit tender. It just appeared today.

3. Occasional aches in my body. If I give it a real big stretch, at times I will have some painful muscle spasms for 10 or 15 seconds.

Anyone experience similar side effects? I know the aches seem to be common, but the pain in elbows the nodule don't seem to be.

Thanks.

I wouldn't think your elbow pain is coming from Tadalafil. I would have to think something else is causing it.

Cialis has been shown to lower E2. If you were already in the low side or taking an AI, you could be experiencing some low E2 effects, ie joint pain. How’s your libido when this happens? The prominent forearm vasculary would make sense due to the increased blood flow.

The thought has crossed my mind that it's low E2 related, but I am still in the process of trying to get dialed-in and don't have my next labs until a month from now. I do take .125 mg of Arimidex twice a week because I was having high E2 issues about 2 months ago, but I wanted to get my next labs before I went ahead and changed anything. Libido has been so-so throughout treatment, so I don't know whether that's a good measure for my E2 level. I would like to see if I can come off the Arimidex and adjust.

Yep, you might simply be taking too much arimidex.

Whats your protocol?

Testosterone Cypionate - 200 mg/ml - .10 ml every day/SQ
Testosterone Cream - 50 mg/ml - 1 click on the scrotum every day
HCG - 150 every day/SQ
Anastrozole - 0.125 mg twice per week

I've been on this protocol about 2 months now. Testosterone cream was added at that time in the hope of improving libido. I was on twice weekly shots of cypionate and HCG for about 2 months before that and my E2 was too high. I'm low SHBG. I may start going with 2 clicks of cream every day (which Defy said was fine), but I'd prefer to get some blood work to see where things stand right now. I have noticed that I am prone to hot flashes and face flushing, which I presume is either a sign of low E2 or a side effect from the Tadalafil.

I get the hot flashes and facial flushing from cialis, big time. Though luckily I don’t have to take it anymore. I think you have the right idea to see what your blood work looks like before making a change. It definitely takes a lot of patience to get this stuff all figured out. I would be an estrogen factory with your protocol. But everyone is different in that regard. Best of luck and please update the thread when you get your labs.

Out of curiosity, what aspect of my protocol would cause you to create so much E2? The HCG? Too much testosterone? All of the above?

I would say all of the above, particularly the daily hCG which I’ve tried and didn’t have any success with. Though I have always had a very hard time with E2 conversion.

In what range do you try and keep your E2?

Sorry for the late reply. My current school of thought is that it follows Total T at something like an 18 to 1 ratio. And I’m currently reducing my overall T levels right now, but I don’t take AI’s, just zinc sometimes.
