I've been experimenting with an every day test cyp protocol and I'm not sure I can stand to finish adjusting to it. I barely slept in a week. My question is, if my free T is in a good place while on every day protocol, what happens when I double or triple it even quadruple the dose to go back to one of those other protocols? I seem to be able to feel tiny adjustments while on the every day thing, so those first few injections going back to something else much bigger, will it have an overwhelming effect? The last thing I want to do is end up in the hospital after going from 10mg shots to 25mg and freaking out. Has anyone done this?

How long since you switched to low dose
It was either beginning of November or October. The first few weeks were awesome, then over time anxiety began, energy started fading, blood pressure lowered dramatically, other bizarre symptoms started, and what pushed me over the edge was the insomnia this past 10 days. We're talking 3 nights of less than an hour, and the rest were about 3 hours. Insomnia is my Achilles heel. It's the worst. That was at 10mg daily and supposedly my levels were fine (total T 550, free T near top of range). So I was on that dose 10-14 weeks and it progressively got worse. I increased to 13mg just yesterday and slept great last night. Praying for good sleep tonight.

Bump for this. I seem to react to the most minor adjustment in dosing. Currently on daily, 1mg higher or lower I can literally feel the difference in 1 day. I know this sounds crazy and totally unbelievable, but it's the truth. It also seems to have worsened as I moved my doses from twice per week, to eod, to currently daily. I made the mistake of going higher to 13mg for just 2 days and I was so jacked up I went to the ER, like I had taken to much of an actual stimulant. Have I pigeonholed myself into daily shots or nothing? Should I experiment with subq to attain more of a constant dose? And to dose subq, legally just inject into the fat of my love handle, correct? Depth doesn't matter?

I started 8 weeks ago... I have titrated down from about 18mg a day to 8mg a day sub Q because of high BP, pulse, insomnia and anxiety. I too feel the daily small changes. I took two days off and most of my side effects went away. Dr. Stevenson in the UK has guys on doses as low as 5 mg a day. Daily shots seem to help a lot of guys who are on a real TRT protocol. I'm still trying to figure out my dose.... has anything helped you?

I'm down to 5mg daily after experimenting with 7mg, 5mg, 4mg and went back up to 5mg. Doing better, but not perfect. I have other stuff going on as well, but I'm pretty sure 5mg daily is what's best for me for testosterone dose. E2 may be a little low, so I'll test both in a couple weeks to confirm.

How did you feel on 4mg compared to 7mg? Its amazing how sensitive our bodies can be compared to these monster guys doing 30mg a day... lol

I'm glad your feeling better.... Thanks for the help!

I think my e2 dropped too far on 4mg, because when I tested my e2 on 5mg a few months ago, it was 15. I feel best around 20.

@GreenMachineX, I am not sure what you decided, but my sense is that, yes, if you go from where are you on a daily protocol to immediately increasing the dose for more periodic injections, you will probably not like it. I suspect this, because I have made the same mistake. In fact, I have made the mistake of doing it in both directions: going from a daily protocol to a larger dose right away, and, going from a large dose protocol to a daily protocol right away.

I suspect that my doing this has led to more issues than I should have and it also makes it really hard to judge whether or not what you are currently doing is beneficial. So, I am trying to be patient by using Natesto for a little while to allow esters to clear from me. I will then restart an injection protocol that has had some success in the past. I am not sure I have the discipline to wait five half-lives from my last injection, but I will ride it out for at least a week before restarting.

I do believe you that you feel the small changes. I am also really sensitive. Daily dosing has not been all that great for me. Maybe for some the pharmacokinetics don't make sense. For example, maybe a daily injection pushes either testosterone or a metabolite too high, even transiently, before the prior day's injection has fully cleared?

I also think our various struggles may not all be from one source. For example, I think large injections spike my blood pressure and E2, which makes me feel bad. But, small injections tend to give me anxiety and headaches, probably for some different reason.

I do subcutaneous injections in belly fat, but many inject the love handle area.

I'm on 5mg daily now and I think this is a good place. My blood pressure is the best it's ever been, sleep has good days and bad but I'm not up all night anymore, but libido is poor think. There's some other things I'm trying to work out at the same time, so I'm just sticking with the 5mg daily for now. I even went down to 4mg, sleep went even worse as well as just overall feeling bad (hard to describe, but worse then not injecting at all). Within 3 days of going back to 5mg, I feel and sleep better.

I have been take 7mg a day for the past few days. I took 8mg yesterday to see if my body could tell the difference and sure enough I was filled with anxiety today. How can my body be so sensitive? My biggest issue is sleep right now.... I'm trying to figure out if my sleep is because of a lack of testosterone or too much testosterone. I may try 5 or 6mg for a few days to see how my body reacts. I'm questioning if its the Testosterone Cypionate itself. I'm going to try another doctor but it seems difficult to find someone who is competent with sensitive users.... What is your bloodwork looking like at 5mg? Are you using doctors? Did you have super low levels upon starting TRT? I did....

I'm just as sensitive to changing doses. I have all the same questions. I am using a doctor and yes, I had very low levels when I first started, but I'm still contemplating coming off completely. Last time I was at 5mg daily, it wasn't quite long enough from dropping from 7mg, but it was 105 free T on range 35-155. I'm having it drawn again next week.

I got turned onto a hormone specialist.... so I'm making an appointment in four weeks so we can get good bloodwork. I was on opiates for a long time due to a back injury. They crushed my T levels. I should be off the opiates by next summer so I am hoping that my T levels will go back up. I knew that I had low T levels for the past 5 years but life and work was getting unbearable after being sick from COVID. I'm 44 but I still want kids if I can find the right woman.... so I'm not sure if I should try Clomid or something else in the meantime.... How long have you been dealing with this ordeal?

Have you come across any literature, forums, good videos or information pertaining to testosterone sensitivity? I feel a bit better knowing that I'm not alone... Thanks!

I've been on TRT for 8 years or so, and have had varying issues for 6 years of that, but unsure how much is from TRT. I haven't really tried to find anything on testosterone sensitivity, except I read one thing once that it implicates a pregnenolone deficiency but I couldn't find anything to substantiate that claim. My preg levels are low though.

I tried clomid at one point and now wish I stuck with that. It brought my total T to 450, and my shbg runs low so I bet my free T was good enough then.

What were your t levels for those 5 years?

Five years ago my TT was 137. After my bad initial experience with TRT I changed my diet and started to ride my bike. Sounds weird but I kind of forgot about my low T. For the next few years I thought I was just getting old because I turned 40. I'm a contractor by trade and I went from working 10 hours a day... to 8.... and then after Covid I could hardly work 6 hours. So I know that I can function ok with relatively low T. When I was at about 120mg a week of testosterone cypionate.... I tested at 830 TT. I'm a big guy but I don't have the classic features that would suggest that I was ever a high testosterone guy.

I've been on testosterone for 60 days. I assume that the first 45 days are out of my system.

My average dose for the past 17 days is 6.88

My average dose for the pas 7 days is 4mg

Most of my major symptoms have gotten better except for insomnia and that cracked out feeling of bing 'ON' all the time. I tried skipping a shot and I noticed that felt better. So I am going to try 10 mg EOD. This puts me at 35mg a week.

The lowest protocol that I typically see in forums is about 50mg a week. I don't want to get stuck on numbers but at the same time I don't want to do any harm to myself being too low....

I might have asked you this already... but did you have blood work at 5mg? Was 5mg enough to raise your levels higher than your starting point? I know that you said that you were feeling better....
