Struggling to get pregnant

Hey Folks,

I'll try to keep this short and to the point. I've been on TRT for about 5 years now. About a year and half ago, we were able to get pregnant once my doctor added FSH to my current regimen of Test. However, we had a miscarriage. Unfortunately, FSH is no longer able to be compounded.

I've continued taking Test, but since March of this year I've added in black market HMG and HCG. Typically am doing 75IU 3x week. 1200IU of HCG 2x week. When I was using the compounded FSH, I was doing 2 - 3 shots of 75IU a week I believe. My understanding is that it takes about 3 months to produce new sperm. It's now October and we haven't been able to become pregnant and I'm starting to get worried. My wife is 36 -- about to be 37 in Jan. Feels like we are running out of time.

We don't smoke, drink, or engage in any 'unhealthy' activities. Try to eat well. We both take CoQ10. Wife is taking vitamins for pregnancy as well.

Any suggestions? Recommendations?

Add clomid too.
50-100mg

I've read that there's no point in doing both TRT + Clomid at the same time?

I know my HCG is legit; had that tested. Is it possible we have just been unlucky? My wife is going on 37 and I was doing reading online that couples by that age have a 1 in 10 chance each month. Very depressing to hear.

Yes go off of test and wait 3 weeks.

I've read Numerous people having luck with TRT and hcg, i think there's a way to test legit HCG, you use it on pregnancy test kits lol not sure

Maybe stop TRT and keep going on HCG and see what happens? I went from 0 sperms to “pregnant” in about three months after stopping TRT. Second time around I was on TRT + HCG. Got pregnant with no issues. Everyone is different, but I would consider stopping TRT right away and then check your sperm/fertility levels after 3 months or so. Just a thought and good luck. P

I was doing T and 250ml of HCG twice per week for a while. Then, 500ml of HCG twice per week for around 6 months. I was doing 70ml of Testosterone twice per week that whole time.

We conceived at “first try.” I was planning on stopping T while actively trying, but wife was already pregnant which took us by surprised (I received the news around 3 days after changing my protocol, ie stopping T and further increasing HCG.)

With that said, I think I remained fertile the second time around as I was on T+HCG as per my new dr. protocol. Not sure if starting HCG after being on T for a while is as effective.

In hindsight, I WISHED I knew how HCG helps with fertility while on TRT prior to starting therapy. We were pretty scare and discourage with our first child. My first sperm test came up with 0 sperm count. My second test a few weeks later with 1 sperm!!! By the time I had my second appointment with the urologist, my wife was pregnant; around 3 months after stopping T cold turkey. We are in Canada so seeing a specialist takes forever lol.

This is just my experience. I hope it helps.

No need to stop taking test to become fertile. Just add in at least 1000iu’s of HCG per week. If that doesn’t work, I would up the HCG to 1500iu’s/ week, or even higher if needed. And if that doesn’t work, keep taking the HCG, and try to find some hmg or straight FSH to add in. Most guys will just need the HCG to become fertile, but if not, HMG and/ or FSH should do the trick. But either way there’s no need to come off of test to become fertile. for me personally, adding in 1000iu’s/ week of HCG on top of whatever I’m taking at the time HRT wise has always done the trick. If HCG doesn’t do it, and u don’t have access to hmg and/ or FSH, adding Clomid with the HCG would do the trick I would imagine But not sure if HMG still stimulates the pituitary to produce LH and fsh in a guy that’s shut down from exogenous test. Someone else can maybe comment on that
