Dr started me on a 6 day treatment with Prednisone to aid healing of chronic tennis elbow in both arms.
6, 4mg pills spaced over 1 day with a taper down of 1 pill each day there after.
Seems to be sleep disturbing, two rough nites where i had been doing ok.

Pain in both arms has improved dramatically already.

I had issues with tendons before. For me Cissus and Ultrasound therapy (you can buy online) always works. It takes time but it was a long term solution for me. Once I had a doctor tell me i would never be able to lift again after i injured my rotator cuff. I did physical therapy twice a day in addition to cissus, ultrasound, laser and ice for a few months my shoulder was good as new.
Now everytime i have any signs of tendon issues I immediately use cissus and ultrasound and it goes away before becoming chronic.
Corticosteroids use has a lot of side effects and can be detrimental to muscles and tendons. A 6 days round of prednisone will most likely not cause any harm but will most likely also not help with chronic tendon issues. Pain will be gone during treatment but it will come back. Tendon are difficult to heal because of poor blood supply. Laser/Ultrasound arguably help improve blood supply and speed up healing process.

Yeah I was expecting an injection but oral if it helps me get past it I was OK. Had a bad experience with an ex-wife on Prednisone so it still stings! ;)

has been chronic enough and I couldn't shake with 4 weeks of ice, heat, massage, icy hot, compression sleeves, rest...it was eating away at my day to day QOL.

I had same issue on shoulder then elbow. Laser/Ultrasound/Ice/Cissus saved me both times. Corticosteroids injections are terrible. Provide short term relief but actually weaken the tendon

I have had bilateral epicondylitis (aka tennis elbow) for 6 months now am going to resume a higher dose of BPC-157 and TB-500, along with GH to help regenerate a torn extensor tendon in my arm. Failing that, PRP. Steroids, whether injected or taken orally (as in your case) only treat the pain, not the cause of the injury/degeneration, and if used too often, will actually degrade the tendon over time. Unfortunately, steroid injections are the gold standard with mainstream medical. You need a regenerative medicine specialist.

I assume your tendonitis is from overloading/overtraining your arms? Mine was brought on by that. My x-rays also show calcification in the elbows where they attach to the tricep.

Maybe the tendonitis won't come back in your case, but in many, it does, for the reasons previously stated.

I don't know if this is any help for you.

A few years ago when I got tennis elbow. I could no longer do pull ups, because of the pain. For some reason I was able to do chin-ups, I was able to completely stretch my arm and elbow out. After working hard on doing chin ups for about 6 months, my elbow completely was healed.

Prednisone gives me insomnia, too. Plus my face swells up like a menopausal woman lol. Check out the Theraband Flexbars...They have some really good exercises that will help you out.

I don't think it did anything for me, Prednisone. Good days and less good days I think it can turn the corner for being healed, L side is better than the R at this time. Heat works the best, I've dropped ice. Using now 5% BioFreeze as a topical, along with compression sleeves on both arms.

This is gonna sound stupid, but what position do you sleep in? I had a scorching case of tennis elbow that would not go away for anything around 2 years ago. I woke up one night and noticed my wrist was hurting. I finally figured out i was sleeping on my side and had my wrist curled up toward the inside of my forearm. Started sleeping with a wrist brace to keep my wrist straight at night and my elbow quit hurting in a couple of weeks.
