Hey all,

I’m frustrated with the misdirection of a top state university endocrinologist/professor that has overseen me, starting with my 1st appointment in 2010. I have had mixed, unguided direction and ZERO medication/advice from him.

I just wrote up a huge description on here, but I’m stashing due to future privacy concerns.

2010: He told me my testicles “are on the smaller side” and to wait for symptoms to work themselves out and THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO.

Years later, tells me to see a psychiatrist, and nothing he can do multiple times.

He talks about new medication Filbanserin. I see him again eventually right before the psychiatrist(psychiatrist at his university), “just in case.” Testicles are SMALLER than first appointment. Says I SHOULD HAVE HAD A YEARLY WORKUP , but THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO, SEE THE PSYCHIATRIST LIKE WE TALKED ABOUT.

A few years later he admits he recommended a psychiatrist because he thought I was delusional that I might have had an infection that is causing this. He’s a bit rattled that he sees my testicles were smaller during my 3rd appointment with him, during his review while on the phone with him.

Reverses course again and agrees with outside psychiatrists, that also refused treatment, that I should go back to an endocrinologist.

Nothing but conflicting messages. Plus he brings in a young girl my age as a shadow during my 2nd appointment, against my wishes, how embarrassing.

What was the reason you went to see him? Because you have small testicles and believe you may have low testosterone?

Very low libido, no morning wood for a while, no pleasure with orgasm, couldn’t stay awake during the day. Could have sex at that point but had to coax erect and like kegel hold it.

Did you ever run a testosterone panel. That would be the first thing I would do.

My testicles got smaller and eventually completely disappeared when my testosterone declined because there wasn't enough stimulation.

Also a lot of providers are hesitant to prescribe TRT due to the belief that it increase the risk of cardiovascular events. I find endocrinologist to be the least informed about TRT, I have heard stories like yours before where an endocrinologist held a high position at a reputable hospital and utter failed at understanding testosterone related issues.

Whether it's a title head of endocrinology or some position at a university, none of these titles mean that your doc will be competent enough to diagnose or treat a testosterone deficiency. None of my endo's list TRT as a specialty in their bio, it does mention diabetes and thyroid treatment as a specialty.

Yes, I have had many over the years.

When I first saw this doctor, T was 620, shbg of 37. I should have had some kind of treatment. I spiraled downward, then I tried Saw Palmetto.

He doesn’t help when shbg went up to 60.

He has posted a university backed video on symptoms of low T, and while on the phone with me as “an expert in the male reproductive system.”

I’m thinking of filing a lawsuit for the ridiculous lack of treatment. He did not do anything which still causes consequences to this day. No treatment and PTSD for the last 10 years and grows everyday.

I agree, I don't believe your labs warranted treatment.

What treatment did you want at 620 testosterone with 37 shbg?

Further testing, looking into other causes/specialists, whatever medications that can help.

Was hormonal treatment an option at T of 700, but SHBG of 60? Free T % is 1.5%

When your testicles shrink and your SHBG is 60 at my second appointment?
Do you have a complete testosterone panel? If you do I would post it. It would be good if it was recent one.

If you don't have one. I definitely would get one and then post your results.
