Got blood work done and Dr. prescribed
.25ml subcutaneous shots twice a week of cypionate. I'm 51 and overweight by 35 pounds. I am reading constantly here and online trying to figure out dosage but still confused if this dosage is normal or not. Just started yesterday, so obviously no effect yet. Glad to be here and welcome any suggestions or thoughts.

What is the concentration on the bottle of cypionate... XXX mg/ml?

Multiply the concentration times the injected volume.

For example,

200 mg/ml * (0.25 ml/shot * 2 shots per week) = 200 * 0.5 = 100 mg/week

My pleasure. In my opinion yes it is a reasonable starting protocol. Ask your provider about follow up bloodwork and if you would like report back your trough (taken before next injection) TT/SHBG/fT results at the follow up (typically 6 weeks) /safety panel. Your provider should then use that info to dial in a dosing protocol (titrate up/down based on blood work).

Best wishes.

What did Doc give you for syringes for the Subq? I remember my doc giving me harpoons.

Most of us here use much smaller fixed insulin needles. 31 gauge x 5/16" long for Subq and 29 or 30 gauge x 1/2" long for shallow IM injections.

Also, I get higher readings injecting subq than IM, so it takes time to find a good rhythm and personal optimization. TRT is not a substitute for healthy lifestyle, it definetly supports it though. Good luck... Keep studying up on the subject, lots of great info out there. Especially on this sight!

Appreciate the feedback, yes I'm using small gauge insulin needles subq. Needles don't bother me,and it's been easy to administer. Only had 3 shots, so haven't noticed anything different, but realize this will take time. Thanks
