Last labs SHBG is low yet so is free T? What else to get checked monday for labs. On 100mg IM Cypionate Q weekly

DHEA-s. Progenaolone?

HCT was 53% on 7/15/19 as well as below labs.

SHBG was only 22.6 [ref13.3-89.5]
free test 2.6 [ ref 4.9-19]
total level 119 [ ref 175-981]
test bio available 65.7 [ ref 115-446]
albumin 4.7 [ref 3.2-4.8]

On 3/9/19
DHEA 220 [ref 106-464
prolactin 6.2
estradiol [ unsure if sensitive] 21 [ Ref male < 47]
Cortisol 18 [ ref<10 according to time it was taken]

100mg once weekly with an SHBG of 22 is never going to work and why your Free T is low. 50mg twice per week is where you should be, as a starting point. I assume that's how you wrote it: 100mg ONCE per week.

Oddly enough i was doing 25mg twice a week and felt better. Total dose was 50mg weekly. Even every 5 days i felt better i believe...

Doc saw my numbers and allowed me to go to 100mg a week.

After looking at one of the doctors you mentuoned he even mentioned daily IM doses to maintain truly stable levels.. but with whats left in my syringes after i inject i would be loosing a lot over time. 0.05ml, i know not much but meh all adds up.

My thinking is if i can get 150-175 mg weekly i can dose 3x a week. As i dont mind self injections. The soreness gets old though.

My HCT is also 53% and may be higher on my lab draw monday i dosed last 9/9/19. Should i try to donate blood?

Yes 100mg weekly

Use an easy touch syringe, eliminate the waste. I inject daily within 29g 1/2 in .5cc syringe, shallow IM injection. I use it both for testosterone and HCG.

I'm seeing no medicine wasted using 29 gauge insulin syringes, in fact I always have plenty of medicine left over even after I have my new prescription in hand. It keeps building up and have a surplus.

You want 1m insulin syringes if wanting to dose daily so you can dose mg per mg.

Have you ever had a thyroid panel. TSH, free T4, free T3, reverse T3 and both antibodies.

Doc would only do TSH and T4 wouldnt do other tests.

If my weekly dose is 100mg, then i can do only 14 mg a day

0.0625 ml = 14 mg roughly, which is how many ccs lol


TSH (REFLEX FT4) 1.36 ref 0.40-4.12
Free T4 0.89 ref 0.61-1.85

Prior result was this

TSH 0.65 0.45-5.33

TSH is not a reliable marker for thyroid status, fT4 is not the active hormone, if fT3 were low TSH might be elevated, but not always. I wouldn't worry about it right now, your TRT protocol could be better.

SHBG is on the lower end and the appropriate protocol would be minimum twice weekly or more frequently if symptoms are encountered.

Doctors are just following what they were taught in medical school, even though we have made some progress since then, some doctors are still doing things the old way.

Aye like i mentioned i liked twoce weekly better. My doctor only controls the totsl amount i get. I dictate how i split the doses up. Tried once weekly dont like it as much when i was doing 25mg 2x a week even.

So only debate is to do 2x a week, 3x a week. Or daily has my interest as well. Based on free T and SHBG im open to opinions .

Also if progenolone / dhea/hcg is worth adding at all
