Hi Folks,
I am thinking at start TRT + HCG and would like to know what is the long term side effects of using HCG. I know few people use HCG only when they trying to conceive but what if i keep using HCG for like lets say 5 years. Does it cause any problems? The reason for not trying TRT alone is that I am worried what if my sperm count do not return to normal after i quit TRT as i already have an issue with my testicles and have few sperm count like 2 millions

I've been on testosterone and HCG now for over 4 1/2 years. Just to keep my testicles full. I've had zero issues and never had to use an AI. Some members have issue with HCG because it increases their estrogen and eventually they stop.

Thanks Vince. Actually my friend is a gynecologist and she was mentioning that there might be side effects of using HCG for long term and she said its only used when you are in need to conceive/to bring you sperm count to normal. She said, you dont need it if your not looking for child as it may cause unnecessary issue in the body. She will inform me after further review and research but meanwhile i thought i will check in this forum.
we are talking about the risk of cancer or something serious. Casual side effects i dont mind like if there is increase in estrogen then we can use AI right? BTW, I dont think so i will have issue with estrogen bcas my testicles are not working properly so that is the reason i dont have proper level of testosterone but i have more than normal level of estrogen like 115( should be less than 160). Its good to hear that after 4 years u dont have any issues. Have u seen anybody who had any issue with using HCG for long time. It would be great if u can give me some info regarding this as i can convince my friend about it.

I definitely would try HCG. Nelson has used it for many years. With it he got his testicle size back and his libido. I inject 500 IU twice a week. I started using it right when I started using testosterone. I've never look back.

Thanks Vince and Cataceous,
I will definitely try low dose of hcg 500iu twice a week with 100mg a week testosterone.
Although i am little paranoid now after reading the link posted by cataceous. The article mentions that there is risk of cancer if you use hcg for long term along with viagra or cialis but its very rare. I do use viagra every now and then. What about u vince and cataceous? Do u guys use it?

It's a hypothesis based on some anecdotal evidence. The correlation has not been demonstrated yet, and if it exists then establishing causality is a further step. They are not claiming differences between LH and hCG for this point, so if hCG doses are reasonable then the risk should be no higher than in men with normal HPTAs—not on TRT/hCG. I do use PDE5 inhibitors occasionally; this article is not enough to deter me.

Yes, I do use both Viagra and Cialis. I use Viagra before my workouts and Cialis is part of my daily nitric oxide.

Ya true. Agree with you. Just not being in the industry for long time and also reading lots of articles so dont know what to believe. Thanks for explaining

Just my 2 cents as it may help you. I had trouble with HCG when I started at 500 iu 2x a week. Within 8 hours of injecting I'd get extremely irritable and angry. I cut it out and those symptoms were eliminated. However within a few weeks I did notice that there were benefits that disappeared as well - energy, sense of well being, and of course the cosmetic 'fullness.' After some experimenting with the dosage and timing, I have been able to tolerate 200 iu every other day and so far so good. As for side effects, obviously HCG will increase testosterone production in the testes, and thereby likely increase estrogen through aromatisation within the testes. And this aromoatisation is not

sorry got cut off.... the aromoatisation within the testes is not affected by an AI (that's a whole separate Pandora's box and I'm not getting into it). SO you have an increase an estrogen, which by itself may or may not be negative depending on how you react. The other side effect I'm aware of is possible increase in Hematocrit, as you are further increasing your testosterone levels.

Are you using HCG with TRT or Just HCG alone? What were your testosterone and estrogen levels. Do u think the irritability might have caused by increase in estrogen levels. Still I am not going to use AI until its necessary, I mean, if i dont see any benefits from TRT and HCG

I have some HCG but I am hesitating. Does anyone know for sure that what applies to arimidex, in not inhibiting aromatase in the testes, also applies to exemestane?

Thats interesting. So monotherapy means they are just using HCG to increase there Testosterone and Sperm count i guess.
Basically yes. However , it can be used to increase your testosterone levels instead of TRT. I mean fertility might be a reason but not always. Some men don’t like TRT because it causes testicular atrophy hence they choose HCG monotherapy but the doses are much higher than when HCG is combined with TRT. It’s very expensive compared to Cypionate for example and seems to bring inferior subjective results. But again, it’s a matter of preference and it’s an option for TRT

I've been using 250iu every 4 days and it has been keeping the boys full, I did 250iu eod up until I started the lower dose and I don't see any drastic difference in testicle size.
