How to raise estradiol/estrogen (not on an AI - TRT for 10-12 weeks)

Been on TRT for about 10-12 weeks now. Started off great, but now feel like death. Insomnia, terrible libido, freezing cold, joint pain, etc. My guess is due to my low estrogen levels, which I had confirmed. On my recent blood work, my free T was slightly over normal range, as was my total T. Estradiol (sensitive) was at 7 (low end of normal is 8). I am not on an AI. How do I increase my estrogen/estradiol?? My test is already quite high. I am on 160 per week split into 3 doses. I am also on HCG (800 IU split into 3 doses across the week).

Before starting TRT, my estradiol was also low, but so was my total and free T (both below normal) so more expected. Why am I not aromatizing?

Thanks!

Are you on cialis? There's been a lot of recent threads on crashing/ inhibiting aromatase.

Doesn't Defy have some creams with estrogen mixed in?

You lack aromatase enzymes and therefore are unable to convert enough FT->E2, you could use more HCG which will increase intertesticular estrogen.

You might need estrogen cream. I think the underlining cause of low testosterone is the reason for low estrogen, maybe your body in an attempt to adapt to the low testosterone environment decided get rid of the aromatase enzymes in an attempt to keep estrogen for getting out of control and now that testosterone is elevated, your body isn't creating more aromatase enzymes like it should be.

This is just a theory.

Tested in your trough right before your injection? Im interested in that because if so that's only your low point, you have a peak as well.

I'd retest it to verify if that's easy enough, joint pain is a clear E indicator though.

Using an E cream is terrible idea.

I used estradiol cream over the summer to improve levels from undetectable to 12.5 pg/mL. It's a viable approach, and the short action is good for stopping when/if aromatization hits more normal levels. Another member has mentioned using oral estradiol, which might be ok for short periods, but I think it's inadvisable for long-term use. I also used estradiol propionate injections because of the short half-life. I guess if long-term therapy were indicated then estradiol valerate injections might be ok. But stabilization would be slow.

I still can't fully explain why I stopped aromatizing for a period—pausing hCG use likely contributed—so I can't offer any ideas on your case. But keep monitoring your estradiol, as it may recover in time.

Yes, this was in my trough. It was the morning of when I normally inject.

You're aromatising normally w/o estradiol cream? Do you think the estradiol cream helped restart aromatizing enzymes?

I aromatized normally, or even a little too much, both before and after this unusual episode. I doubt the cream or estradiol propionate had much to do with the recovery; they just served as a stopgap measure to avoid the negative health consequences of having undetectable estradiol.

I am currently using HCG in addition to the Testosterone injections. I’m on a protocol that should help me deal With some of the terrible side effects that came with using Testosterone gel before I switched to injections. I’d ask your advisor what he think you can do to perhaps start you on HCG to help boost your estrogen a bit

I’ve been on both since August this year and I feel amazing g.
