Hi, Everyone. I'm pleased to find this site. People using this site are very knowledgeable and show that the quality of health is very important to most people. If we're going to be living into our nineties, we don't care about the number -- the "living" part is what we want! It's all about the quality of life. I think a common thread on here is just that the medical establishment usually doesn't do enough for most people due to its typical fast-food approach. It's so nice to find on this site that there are alternatives.

I am 48 years old and have just been feeling terrible ever since I hit age 40. I have two young daughters and am trying to always work around their schedules. I had kids a little later in life, and so it's important to take my girls to piano lessons and Tae Kwon Do. My doctors always just keep telling me I'm fine. I suspect that I have a thyroid problem and would like to explore the testosterone angle a little more after all my tests for these at the doctor have come back "normal." I met Vettester Chris recently, and he recommended the site. Thanks, Chris. This site has loads of information.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, this site is cool. I really like a lot of 60's, 70's stuff, but I dig a little bit of everything. I like all kinds of guitars, but some guitars are as expensive as used cars (Gibsons). I would like to get a Beatle Hofner bass, and also my other dream guitar is a Gibson SJ-200 acoustic, but I think the Gibson is about $4k. It's a little too pricey for me. LOL

Awesome. I'm primarily a Gibson guy. Have a couple Les Pauls and a 339. I primarily play classic rock, but do like 90s rock as well. And some of today's stuff.

That SJ-200 is an awesome guitar, and also out of my price range! Love the mustache bridge on those. :)

So glad you joined!! It's really cool having someone join that I know from the music side of my life!!

I think you could very well be on to something with the thyroid, as it can be grossly misdiagnosed by many GP's. The correct labs will be the starting point ... TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, Antibodies (TPO & TgAb). You can always use discounted labs, and/or I get a discount with PrivateMdLabs.com as well? Or if your GP will run them, better yet? My GP at Kaiser will run most of them, but sometimes Kaiser doesn't have everything in their system.

Yes, it was about 40 for me too!! Man, I was down and out, blue, no sex drive, no fun! Low Test was the first item, and then I had to deal with Kaiser's endo, and learn the ropes the first year. I ended up going to a specialist after that, and never looked back. My GP is in-tune with what I do, and we collaborate on my treatments. I'm telling you my friend, you are living in an age where getting older doesn't mean you have to deteriorate. It's just a matter of identifying what is "out of balance", then taking the steps to restore that balance.

We'll be chatting more soon ... Side note: I just got a Boss GT100 pedal setup with a ton of great features and a phase looper!! Once I get more familiar with it, I will be rolling it by with my little portable amp.

OK, we need to talk ... I've really been looking for the right ES-339. I purchased a custom shop ES339 for a big client of mine in Mexico, who plays in a band and does some studio work. I just love how that guitar plays, and it's got the smaller Les Paul size to it. Anyhow, not to hijack a good intro thread, but guitars and motorcycles can tend to get me sidetracked real fast!! :p

Yeah, with guitars we could talk forever. Motorized anythings too, for sure. Haha. I just have a "beater" acoustic that is pretty well loved. I have a Rickenbacker 12 string, bass too -- love playing bass as well. I've got a 1967 Guild Bluesbird (m-75). It is so lightweight and has good sustain, but it feeds back a lot on stage.

Thanks for the good advice, Vettester Chris. I'm going to check into whether Kaiser can run those tests or start using the discount labs option.

Thanks!
