Doxazosin restored my morning erections

Buy Lab Tests Online
I have been on a stable TRT protocol administered by one of the more reputable physicians often mentioned on this forum, but have been chasing ED issues since the beginning. Most recently, I was having issues getting physically aroused, and would lose my erection during intercourse, which is clearly very frustrating. I have not had morning or spontaneous erections in years.

Doctor suggested low-dose Doxazosin... started at 1mg and titrated to 2mg after a few weeks. No side effects seen, and within two days, my morning erections began to return.

This has had a compounded effect on the subjective side of my TRT treatment - I didn’t realize how important morning erections are to my libido, which has been much better with the confidence I now have that I can fully perform.

If you are suffering from similar symptoms, I’d suggest mentioning this to your doctor.

Are you dosing split into AM and PM?
Have you noticed any insomnia from it?

I tried it and it worked great for me but after a couple of weeks ii got bad Insomia so i quit.

I have not tried it again to confirm if it was the Doxazosin or not causing the issue though.

Did you have high blood pressure, etc? Not that familiar with that drug and curious to learn more about why your doc chose it to address ED issues.

I take the 2mg in the morning. I don’t have insomnia but my dreams have gotten a bit more vivid. Not so much that I would even complain about it (and I’m not even sure there’s a correlation).

No BP issues that I’m aware of. The dose isn’t high enough to affect my BP as it’s stayed constant around 120/80. My understanding is that it increases blood flow by relaxing smooth muscle.

I also forgot to mention that the entire time, I’ve been on Cialis 5mg daily, which seemed to be effective early on but began to wane over time.

Your TRT doctors have no idea why you are having problems with ED? I don't understand how these people call themselves doctors and yet cannot solve something as basic as sexual performance, which would appear to be an easier riddle to solve than low libido. At least you're able to correct the problem by taking a drug, but that still does not address the underlying causes.

Could you please enlighten us and share the solution for this "basic" problem?

I have a pituitary tumor that has created a multitude of downstream issues that we’ve been addressing successfully in a very methodical manner. This has taken time and discipline on both my part and that of my physician.

I simply wanted to share the positive effects I’ve experienced with the addition of this particular medication to my regimen for those who continue to struggle, and answer any questions people might have.

Seriously?

Etiology of ED is multifactorial.

Happy you’re responding well Geauxbears! Doxazosin is considered an escalation from the traditional ED treatments (PDE-5i and nitric oxide enhancers).

Dr. Saya - can you provide insight into the specific mechanism of action for doxazosin? How does it achieve the desired results I’m seeing? I’m trying to understand why my body needs this magnitude of assistance when I’m only 33, active, low body fat, etc. I know it’s a BP med - I began checking my BP at home a while ago because when they check at the doctor it’s always 150/95ish and they ask if I have BP issues (which scared me)... but checking at home it’s almost always perfect around 120/80.

I do struggle with generalized and situational anxiety and am wondering if the doxazosin somehow inhibits the physical manifestations of that condition.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm not the one with the Ph.D. i

Yes, I am questioning how doctors and others with PhDs don't understand what causes ED, assuming all the usual suspects, such as atherosclerosis, stress, etc., are eliminated as causes. It's baffling how little we still understand about the human body.

Forgive me for being perhaps a little biased because I have suffered from not being able to get concrete answers from doctors regarding certain health-related issues I have had.

My thought process is: if we rule out x, y, and z, as causes of ED or another condition, shouldn't that leave us with only a handful of possibilities regarding the underlying causes?

For instance, trt is supposed to improve libido and sexual response. If trt doesn't help, if blood pressure and circulatory health are good, shouldn't that leave us with only a handful of possible causes?

Why would the body have trouble producing NO? If a drug such as doxazosin is effective, might that give us a clue to the underlying problem and a perhaps more effective means of treatment than taking a pill?

White coat syndrome... It's fairly common to have slightly elevated BP at the doctor. My BP tends to run a tad low and my doctor denied me Doxazosin, I really wanted to add it with my Gene's nitric stack because I hear it is a key component. The local doctor I go to said it would be dangerous combined with the stack and my BP running at 110/60.

Cardura (Doxazosin) Blocks norepinephrine on the vascular system causing smother muscle relaxation and wider blood vessels. So maybe you have to much norepinephrine???

So I assume this also helps with muscle pumps? What other effects would it have on the physique and muscles outside of the love muscle :)

I have been recently put on Floras, which is in the same class of drugs. May be imagination, but I think it may improve erection quality. Been getting some random erections during the day. Not thinking or touch involved. Pretty unusual I’d guess for 64 years old.

Anybody know? Calling Dr. Saya or madman?
