After reading a few posts in this forum, I like to create a baseline for my bloodwork for TRT.

The test I’d like to pursue are listed below with cost figures. Are there any websites that package these items together for a more economical approach?

Your comments are welcomed.

1. Testosterone, Free, Bioavailable, and Total, LC/MS (No Upper Limit) plus SHBG....$124

2. ESTRADIOL , Ultra Sensitive (LC/MS) Blood Test....$50

3. DHT - Dihydrotestosterone....$75

4. Prolactin ..... $49

Total: $298

All those tests are the same or cheaper prices at my company Discounted Labs. I am the founder of ExcelMale.com
Type the name of each test in the search box on the site.

Hi Bruceredden

Back at the start of 2020 I had the same question. I thought Discounted Labs was a good choice and that proved to be the case, but there were so many options about what to include in your baseline tests and adding different panels together can end up with the same tests at different costs. This is what worked best for me:

Don't forget to watch for the 10% discount code that sometimes is available.

Good luck.

Quest does not have semen analysis and LabCorp only provides it in a hand full of locations.
Some home based semen tests seem to work OK.

LH and FSH are not needed in men on TRT since they will be shut down.

I would not spend money on thyroid antibodies if the thyroid panel looks OK.

Vitamin D is usually low unless you take 5000 IU or more or spend time in the sun daily.

It’s rare to see low ferritin in men prior to TRT.

Hi Nelson

Isnt LH and FSH a good idea on this Baseline Test since it will help the diagnosis of Primary or Secondary hypogonadism?

Rgds

I created a pre TRT panel.

if TSH is high (over 2.5), I would run a comprehensive thyroid panel.
If total testosterone is under 200 ng/dL, I would run a prolactin test.
The reason these tests are not included in the baseline panel is mostly due to cost.

I seen the list of states that can use discounted labs and I seen the list that couldn’t use discounted labs and Massachusetts wasn’t on either one so my question is Do you service Massachusetts ? Thx
