Have anyone in here tried combining tadalafil and sildenafil? I heard from a friend that it produces out-of-this-world erections. He got the tip from a doctor. I still wrote it off as risky and stupid until I found this study: Study on the Effectiveness and Safety of Combining Tadalafil with Sildenafil for Erectile Dysfunction Authors: H. Cui, B. Liu, Z. Song, J. Fang, Y. Deng, S. Zhang, H. Wang, Z. Wang Affiliation: State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine and Department of Urology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing, China Overview of Research This research focused on assessing the effectiveness and safety of a long-term, low-dose treatment using tadalafil combined with sildenafil for the early-stage treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). The study involved 180 patients with ED, who were divided equally into two groups: one receiving a daily dose of 5 mg tadalafil, and the other receiving the same daily tadalafil dose combined with 50 mg of sildenafil as required. Evaluation Methods The effectiveness of the treatments was measured using two tools: the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) and the Sexual Encounter Profile (SEP). To gauge safety, the study monitored drug tolerability and noted any adverse events. Findings The results showed a more pronounced improvement in erectile function in the group receiving the combined medication, particularly among patients with severe ED. This was evidenced by higher total IIEF-5 scores in the combined medication group compared to the tadalafil-only group. Specifically, scores for Question 2 of the IIEF-5, which assesses erectile function, were significantly better in the combined group for patients with moderate to severe ED. A significant improvement was also noted in Question 3 scores of the IIEF-5, but only for patients with severe ED in the combined medication group. Additionally, there was a notable improvement in responses to SEP4, SEP5, and the partner’s SEP3 in the combined medication group. In terms of safety, there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events between the two groups. Conclusion The study suggests that the combination of tadalafil and sildenafil can significantly enhance erectile function, particularly for those with severe cases of ED, without increasing the risk of adverse events.
