Colorado Springs Doctor Rec

I looked through the DOCTOR FINDER links and still cannot find a rec for a doc here. I just moved so I am looking for a great doce to see that doesn’t just specialize in hoirmones - I would like to use my insurance. Any recs would be greatly appreciated.

I am in CO and can tell you that I much prefer telemedicine clinic like Defy because of their specialization in HRT. Many Defy patients here. In-person visits are over-rated in my opinion.

Defy would be great if I could find a GP, Urologist, or Endo to be my primary care physician. I need one of those first and someone who would workl well with Defy.

I am closer to Denver and agree with WillyT. I was put on a bad TRT protocol by my functional med doc in Boulder a few years ago, so checked into Doctors and clinics and found no one in the Denver region I would trust with TRT. Telemed with Dr Saya has been really good.

I saw two younger "more progressive" Uros for prostate in the Denver area, and found them to be quite archaic, and both viewed my TRT as crazy, one tried to hijack my hormone care in order to dumb it down to his standards. I promptly left both of them. I paid out of pocket to go to a prostate specialist in Houston for diagnosis, and was very glad I did. I would be very pleasantly surprised if you find a Uro or Endo who would readily work with Defy. Please let us know if you do!

I am just implying that if your purpose is to try to find a Uro or Endo to work with Defy, you may find some very strong conflicts of interest and disappointment. I would really be glad to hear to the contrary, and if there are Endos and Uros enlightened in the ways of TRT in CO to Defy's degree, I want to know!

My PCP is a family and sports med doc. He doesn't have the expertise to manage hormones and knows it. He is always interested in me keeping him up to date on my hormone care, but has no desire to micromanage. But as stated above, the uros have wanted to interfere. I think most Uros and Endos will want you to see things their way. I like being independent of such interference.

And my PCP is fine ordering all the labs I ask for billed to my insurance as he understands Dr Saya is out of state and I would otherwise be paying for them out of pocket. So insurance pays for all labs. As for the meds, I think it would be unreasonable on my part to ask him write scripts for hormones for another doctor's care.

Defy does prostate exams and physical exams, the things that they require for entry to their care... in Florida.
