I purchased some bulk L-Citrulline DL-Malate 2:1.
Very inexpensive in bulk form from Amazon. One Kilo for $27.00 shipped.
I have been adding it to the water I drink at work.
I add stevia and 2 heaping teaspoons to a 12oz bottle of water.
Ends up tasting like lemon aid with enough stevia:)
I do that 2 to 4 time a day depending on what I am doing.
I do think it has bumped up my N.O. A good thing:)
So can you overdo on it?

I would think you'd just piss out the excess but 2 teaspoons isn't enough express a dose per se, 5-7G (grams) is a gym based dosing so no way to say how much 2 teaspsoons really is but it sounds like a small amount

You can't overdo L-Citrulline DL-Malate as long as you don't get diarrhea you should be good to go. A friend of mine also drinks it at work.

Thanks guys...
2 heaping teaspoon in a 12oz bottle of water with 4 or 5 packets of stevia and it is drinkable. So if I drink 2 bottles in the AM and 2 in the PM I am using north of 8 heaping teaspoons.
found this:
https://www.quora.com/How-many-grams-are-in-a-teaspoon
How Many Grams Of Sugar Are In a Teaspoon?
Convert grams to tsp - Conversion of Measurement Units
The stuff looks and feels like sugar but may be a bit more dense so if we compare to sugar then:
so it looks like 1 teaspoon is about equal to 5 grams.
So it looks like a gym load would be about 2 teaspoons.
So it looks like I am taking between 20 to 40 grams throughout the day.
As I said above I do think it has had a positive impact on my NO.

Regarding l-citrulline if you search the literature in most studies regarding positive benefits endothelial function/ED.....3 grams was used.

For bodybuilding purposes 6 grams daily is usually recommended.....some take 6 grams pre-workout and others would split into 3 grams pre/3grams post workout.

L-citrulline does not need to be taken more than twice daily......sure you could take more often and highly doubtful there would be any negative effects.

As far as the malic acid there is not enough research to determine what dose is ideal for beneficial effects regarding use as a bodybuilding supplement.

I used to use the same brand of bulk L-Citrulline DL-Malate 2:1 before workouts and would split dose twice daily on non-workout days but over time the malic acid became unbearable as it is harsh and I could not stand the taste so I switched back to just using L-citrulline.

L-citrulline will increase L-arginine and that can raise creatine and creatinine. Thats the only thing i can think of as “negative”. I loved to use l-citrulline to control my BO but my creatinine was a bit too high and then i found this medical paper that showed a relationship between l-arginine and creatine/creatinine so i stopped taking it

From wikipedia: “Creatine is not an essential nutrient[13] as it is naturally produced in the human body from the amino acids glycine and arginine, with an additional requirement for methionine to catalyze the transformation of guanidinoacetate to creatine. In the first step of the biosynthesisthese two amino acids are combined by the enzyme arginine:glycine amidinotransferase(AGAT, EC:2.1.4.1) to form guanidinoacetate, which is then methylated by guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase (GAMT,EC:2.1.1.2), using S-adenosyl methionine as the methyl donor.”

So i guess to much l-citruline can end up having a big impact on creatine/creatinine production

I've been using l-citruline in my nitric oxide stack for many years now and I never found it to increase my creatinine levels. If it has at least I haven't noticed it, as long as I don't supplement with creatine my creatinine levels are good.

I use Citrulline all the time, daily, mixed with Arginine and Citrulline, a mod of Gene's "stack" and then as my own home brewed preworkout...absolutely works as intended.

With an added touch of Cialis or Viagra always helps the vasodilator and positive pump. Especially when compound lifts are utilized.
