Age/blood pressure/blood flow

I'm in my early 60's, and have worked hard to keep my BP under control. But it just kept creeping up and once I hit the 150/90 mark I asked for BP meds. So I started on 5mg daily of ampolidine. That was one month ago. I could see the pattern as my BP dropped gradually from 150/90 to 140/85 to 130/80 and now a "high" for me would be like 125/79. I'm starting to see numbers such as 109/76 before I go to bed. I just tested at my "worse" time of day, coming home from work after commuting 35 minutes through rush-hour and it was only 119/78.

The one thing I noticed though - my morning erections started improving and were great until I began hitting the lower marks and then it went quickly downhill. I attributed that to poorer blood flow, as perhaps my blood pressure is too low for my age.

So I took a 2.5mg daily cialis last night and sure enough, I had great morning erections. Makes me wonder what would be an optimal blood pressure for someone in their early 60's?

Blood pressure and blood flow are not necessarily related. In emergency situations or very early on, increased bp will increase blood flow. But, long term high bp causes vessels to harden and actually decreases blood flow. This is why guys with uncontrolled bp usually develop ed and other blood flow problems. So you are much better off keeping your bp in the normal range and taking daily low dose cialis for the healthy erections.

I am 66 and have never noticed a relationship between BP and erections.

My bp is all over the place, several times I have seen it even lower than your 109/76 a couple of times I have seen it as high as 144/97-68 once I saw 167/122-83. But most of the time my BP is around 123/80-66. The - is pulse rate.

If Cialis works for you, then I would just use cialis and your BP meds. Though some people say Cialis by itself lowers BG enough to get them in a safe range.
