I am taking 250 ius 2 days and 250 ius 1 day prior to my weekly Tcyp injection.(100 mg)

Mood seems improved and testicular aches greatly reduced after 2 1/2 weeks.

How long until testicular size begins to come back?

Thanks
Jim

We're all different and respond differently.

Age is a big factor here; younger guys tend to have more receptors on their leydig cells so they tend to respond faster in terms of testicular volume.

For older men, it can take a little longer.

The Neuro effects, as in a better sense of well being, can happen much quicker.

HCG is a wonderful and safe peptide.

Some improvement.

I increased to 375 iu per inj 2 times per week for the last 2 weeks and have seen some testicle growth. They are about 60 % of what they should be and still are pretty tight to the body.

I did not do a one time inj of 5000 iu at the start of hcg therapy. Should I do that now or a 2500 iu inj. or add another 375 iu inj to make it 375 ius 3 times a week? (m,w,f) Testicle atrophy has been present for about 7 years prior to TRT. Testicular aches present for about 4 years prior to TRT so I know it might take some time to be close to previous size. I have seen improved libido, mood and ejaculate volume since the increase to 375.

Thanks...

jger242...I would recommend sticking with consistent dosing for a period of 4 weeks, check appropriate labs morning after 8th dose so you can correlate objective laboratory data with your subjective clinical response. 500 IU BIW will probably be spot on for you, however multiple factors will play a part in your clinical response.

In addition to fullness, have others noticed that HCG impacts how your balls hang? In other words, if the dose is too low, they tend to hang closer to the body, even in warm weather?

I highly recommend this article: http://www.tahomaclinicblog.com/hcg-neuronal-regeneration/

"HCG boosts libido & erectile function

Have you ever read that HCG has been reported to increase erectile function and sexual desire for some men? No, it wasn't 100% effective, but you'd think that research finding would have been all over the news, especially since the article was published in a major medical journal, Urology. Since the research was published all the way back 1987, the word should have gotten around by now. But since HCG isn't patentable it, of course, will never get the attention that conventional drugs do—but I digress.

Researchers actually reported two randomized studies in the one journal. In the first study, termed preliminary, twenty-nine men with ED (in pre-Viagra 1987, it was called impotence) took either HCG injections (5000 IU twice weekly), or injections of testosterone propionate (which is still in widespread use in 2013), 50 milligrams twice weekly. The HCG outperformed the testosterone, with 49% responding versus 28% in the testosterone group.

The second study involved forty-five men, again randomized, this time HCG versus placebo. Both took twice-weekly injections, placebo or 5000 IU HCG. HCG administration was associated with significant improvement in ED in ten of twenty-one men (47%). The placebo was successful in only three of twenty-four men (12.5%).

The researchers also noted a significant increase in testosterone levels in all twenty-one men who took the HCG injections, but no increases in the men who took the placebo injections. (There was no measurement reported of estrogen in either group.) Since the entire HCG group had a significant increase in testosterone, but only 47% had a significant improvement in ED, it's reasonable to assume that HCG improves ED in some men in a non-testosterone-related way."

O.K.

500 iu 2 times per week is working well. Testicles growing and hanging lower but still tight to body. Everything doing well except...

A few problems.

I have water retention (about 6 lbs in 3 weeks), moodiness and anxiety from the increased doses. I am sure it is from elevated E2.
I had bloodwork drawn and results should be back Thursday to confirm el e2.

Questions:

Would I receive the same benefit without side effects from increased e2 by switching to 250 ius eod or 125 ius ed?

Or stay with 500 ius 2 times per wk for a few more weeks and then drop to 250 ius 2 times per wk?

Thanks...

Jger242, before you jump to conclusions about your estradiol, get it tested (ultrasensitive). Water retention can happen even with low estradiol. Sometimes some men hold more sodium on TRT and/or HCG.

Like Nelson said, get E2 tested...don't guess.

HCG can increase E2 in some men as it increases endogenous testosterone in Secondary men.

That said, when you get E2 tested get a Total and Free Testosterone as well so you see where you stand now.

For me, as with my Testosterone injections, I prefer smaller doses more frequently to reduce aromatase synthesis and get more consistent serum levels.

I now inject 100 iu daily of HCG each and every day and I can say I do feel even better and do see a better increase in libido as well.

If you can inject every day this may be an option for you and help with E2 management as well.

Hi Guys, great thread!

I'm wondering about using hCG to attempt restoration of spermatogenesis and increase testicular size... I've browsed through a few studies that use this, sometimes in combination with hMG, to restore/maintain sperm production.

The questions I have are:
1.) has anyone here used either of these successfully to produce sperm?
2.) what are the latest/best studies that demonstrate this?
3.) do I have to stop taking testosterone to attempt restoration?

Thanks heaps, and looking forward to your comments! :)

Thanks Nelson and Gene. I had bloodwork done Saturday. Results should be back Thursday.

I will post them here.

ultrasensitive e2, total test, bmp, cmp with differential, etc.

Other things going on also.
Had a 35 lb weight gain over 18 mths.
From low t, elevated e2 and thyroi.

Gainexd about 5 lbs after trt began. Then lowered by 10 lbs after anastrozole.

Never had problems lowering weight
until all of this.

We'll get it corrected soon.

You will find an attached pdf file to the first post on this sticky that shows Dr Lipshultz' team's study on using TRT + HCG (500 IU every other day). They were able to preserve healthy sperm in these men. HCG plus TRT to Prevent / Reverse Testicular Shrinkage and Decreased Fertility

HPTA restoration protocols (or PCT) are mostly successful in men who started testosterone not because of low levels but because of bodybuilding. Most guys who have low T (under 350 ng/dL) who start testosterone replacement really are wasting their time to reset their HPTA unless their HPTA issues were related to illness, medications, unbalanced thyroid, obesity, poor life style. Some men who address all of this issues may get to normalize HPTA specially if they are under 35 years of age. For most of us on TRT, HPTA restoration is useless and will only lead to low T symptoms after we go through the few weeks of HCG, Clomid and tamoxifen. Getting Off Testosterone or Anabolics? You May Want to Read These PCT protocols

If you want to remain fertile, just use TRT plus HCG as Lipshultz showed. I have asked him to do another study using only 500 IU twice a week since that is what most of us are using.

Sperm quality/health testing is not expensive, so you can do your own testing to see if your response mimics that of the study.

I hope this answered your questions. I am sure other guys here will add their experiences with HCG and/or HPTA protocols.
