Gentlemen I have a question. I will post some history so you can better answer.

Started trt about 3-4 months ago.

Before trt I was very low , but had no problems with erections. Libido did suck. Sex maybe once a week. I am 40+

First couple weeks of TRT felt great increase in libido.

My libido is not really returning. I can still get erection but no sensitivity. Last night I had sex and the orgasm was barely felt. A dull experience. Wtf! This has never happened to me in my entire life.

I am taking: trt, thyroid meds. Supplements: vd, and a daily includes zinc boron and a few other minerals and important vitamins for men

My T levels are high and I have a good trt doc. I’m told This could be estrogen but not sure about that. I’m not taking ai to control it. If this is esstrogen I’d for sure lower my dose a bit and double check my supplements.

Where do your levels sit? You referenced estrogen - has your estradiol been measured with the sensitive, LC, MS/MS, lab test? What are your total and free testosterone values? You write that you are taking “trt and thyroid meds” - what are the details of your protocol? Has prolactin been checked?

The more information you provide, the more focused the conversation will be.

For me, TRT really decreased orgasm intensity, volume of ejaculation, and overall enjoyment of sex.
I have never had any kind ED issues...wake up during the night and wake in the morning with a hardon.

It seems like a lot of men start TRT hoping for a "fix" for sexual function. And in some cases, some men report that is has helped.
Many though have reported the opposite happening.

As others will post I am sure, sexual function has so many facets to it. Life style, overall health, stress, etc.

I stopped TRT and all my sexual issues I mentioned above went away very quickly.

As Vince and Coast mentioned, you will get better input if you post your labs.

I am waiting on my post TRT labs right now. One thing the doctor mentioned during my last consult before stopping TRT, was DHT levels and the effects it has on libido, etc.
So that might be something for you to look at as well.

Good luck to you.

I’m running labs soon. I’ll repost then. My latest labs were before I switched to the cream. That’s ss a month ago. Before that my e2 stayed in the 20s/30s in 200mg per week dosing EOD.

I’m curious if men have experienced this when they start trt. Does it get better over time.

Yes thank you and I hope that’s not the case. Body was fine performing sexually before trt. Frequency jsut wasn’t there. My levels were stupid low though. Fatigue and etc.

I know I should post labs I just don’t have anything recent now that I switched to cream. It will be another week or two before I stabslize and have good labs. I need to let the cypionate leave my system to test what cream does to me alone.

Cream=plenty of DHT btw.

Its such a nuanced thing that you can't and probably won't see it just the numbers. I suffered with it to a large degree for years while being plied with all the usual advice and numbers and it wasn't til I went on my own in to a real grey area that I found something, that works for me.

Interesting so how does one go about figuring this out. Everything points me towards high e2 but no other real symptoms.

I really can’t address someone else’s experience with libido etc. but I can relate my experience. I’ve been on T cyp injections for about seven years and I’d say the way it has transformed my sex life is incredible. Super hard erections (I also use 5mg Cialis daily) , super sensitive penis and outbof this world orgasms. The best sex of my life and it just keeps getting better. Therefore I’d say that anyone who has poor sex on TRT needs to assess things to find out what’s going on. TRT should definitely give a positive sexual outcome. I think that one problem some men have is a doctor who thinks getting you up to the bottom of the range is sufficient.

I had almost no measurable levels of E when I started. I also didn't notice any changes (meaning I still had undesirable side effects) and went on to discover after a little while my levels of E had shot really high.

So it took some time to get them "in range", but the takeaway for me was I had just as bad a reaction when I had low E as high E.

I'm a little different than you, though, because I wasn't able to perform at all sexually before TRT and now I can...although I don't ever think I'll get back to the days I could go multiple times all night and took it for granted.

Glad to hear how great things are goin for you in that department. Are you using HCG, or any other compounds with your TRT? (Pregnenolone, DHEA, ai, etc.). Or just straight testosterone?

So how did you get your E2 in range finally?

Just test cyp .45ml (200mg/ml) twice per week and 333IU HCG every other day. I also take 5mg Cialis Daily and for the fun of it I also take 50mg generic viagra before sex. It’s not really needed but it’s fun to have the added ease of erections.

Everything about this is a long journey. The doctor and I first dialed in the Testosterone and HCG doses, then moved onto maintaining those while adjusting the Anastrazole to a lower dose.

We'd wait over a period of 3-6 months, and test again to see what was happening and how I felt. Eventually I got to the protocol I'm at now.

I'll tell you, after almost 5 years I'm still seeing new things (like the very occasional rock-hard erection in the middle of the night) and wondering what I can do to make that a regular occurrence.

Jesus Christ, you have patience I can only dream about having lol. What’s your current protocol look like?

Wow, so 180mg/ week of test, and 1165iu’s/ week of HCG, and no ai huh? Good for you. Gives hope to guys that are trying to avoid ai’s at all costs. What’s your current total T, free T, E2 and SHBG look like on this protocol? That’s the last question. Don’t want to derail the thread too much. But I’m too curious not to ask.

I definitely have experienced a better sexual performance when I add Cialis to my .50 mg of cypionate once a week. I also feel much better knowing that I’m able to have erections (confidence) as needed. Exogenous testosterone helps a lot but for me expecting to have cypionate alone fix my ED was a total disappointment that made me feel very frustrated to the point I couldn’t see the benefits of TRT as I was completely focused on my sexual behavior and not taking anything else. I take 20mg but I’d like to ask my Dr to prescribe dialy Cialis. What side effects if any do you have from .5mg daily? How many ius of HCG do you take? I believe your doctor is giving you a very comprehensive approach to treat TRT related issues.
