Thanks, VC - you are correct. I am in a lot of health forums/groups (I mostly lurk), and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. The knowledge here and willingness to learn is unmatched, as well as the helpfulness and all-around kindness to each other.

I feel really lucky to have found EM - I'd buy everyone a beer, but it wouldn't be good for our e2 :)

"chronic fatigue"
Have you ever been tested for Lyme?
CFS is one of MANY MANY conditions / diseases Lyme can mimic.....
If you are in the US you can order your own "Western Blot" test or see if you can get your DR to run it.
Do not take "NO" for an answer from your DR.......
DO NOT get the pre test. Worthless... A LOT of false negatives.
There are some good threads on Lyme here for additional information......
Case in point (and this not an uncommon situation)...
A friends husband in another department has been sick for 5 years plus.....
A TON of issues....
Been to every DR and specialist around.
Spent $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on DRs and specialist that pushed him to other DRs and specialist.
Recently one DR ran the Western Blot and told him and his wife that he had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever....
"He cant have that" was the response from some DRs....
None of the DRs and specialist even considered Lyme or similar over the past 5 years or so.
They have an appointment with the DR that treated my Daughter for Lyme next week......
It will be interesting to hear her report...
At least they are now finally seeing a DR that knows and understands and can treat accordingly...
More to follow on that....
Bottom line.... Get tested......

Thank you, Orrin for all your input. I don't think I have Lyme (I don't remember ever having a bullseye bite), but keep seeing it mentioned. I will look into it.

A "BULL's EYE" does not occur with every tick bite.
You may not even know you were bitten.
One can get bitten by a nymph tick the size of a pin head and come down with Lyme.

Get the idea:)
My Daughter NEVER had a rash or "Bull's Eye" or had a tick bite that she knew of, BUT she came down with Lyme.
Simple test to rule it out.
Now one more article for you to read that should reeeeeal drive home the need to rule it out....

Get the test to rule it out !!!!!!!!!
One More...... Take this test....

Did you try iodine (lugol or iodoral) and selenium ?

Edit: the Title should be "1.5 grains..." which is 3 capsules (I can't edit the Title of the post).

I've been on 1.5 grains (3 capsules) of NDT for 102 days and my thyroid numbers and overall symptoms have remained the same. I was started on 1/2 grain for 10 days, then 1 grain for 10 days, then 1.5 grains until the present.

Dec/2017:

TSH 3.72 (.45 - 4.50)
Free T4 1.06 (.82 - 1.77)
Free T3 3.1 (2.0 - 4.4)

April/2018:

TSH 3.48 (.45 - 4.5)
Free T4 1.01 (.82 - 1.77)
Free T3 3.0 (2.0 - 4.4)
Reverse T3 14.6 (9.2 - 24.1)
TPOAb 18 (0 - 34)
TGAb <1 (0.0 - 0.9)

It was mentioned on another thread that some guys take up to "4 to 6 grains/day." I didn't want to hijack that thread, so my question is:

How does the Doc/patient know whether to only increase NDT, eliminate it and replace it with T3 and/or T4, or do a combination of NDT, T3, and T4?

I have a follow-up mid-June and am wondering what to try next. Also, if I should even refill my current non-working NDT prescription before then.

Hi Ricardo, thank you for responding. Yes, I have been taking Lugol's 5% (1-2 drops) and Selenium (200 mcg) for a long time now. I don't eat iodized table salt.

I'm in Canada and my MD Rx'd cytomel and synthroid and that's what I got... I know in the USA generic drugs rule the pharmacy business so I'm unqualified to comment on that.
